Hope he invested in diapers, cuz if this thing is crap....

I was gonna throw a barb at that last comment, but it's not worth it....

I love how people are so quick to underestimate the work Singer has done in the past...you'd think he was McG.

Past doesn't count. Counts what you do with the movie. If past counted for that Alexander would've been a masterpiece...

You should have known Alexander wasn't gonna do big numbers when Troy only made around 140 Million at the box office earlier this year, and it had to be pushed back because of behind the scenes problems....(which is why I am very worried about the Fantastic Four movie at this point, Fox had to add 20 Million to the budget over the last month of filming because they felt they needed to show more of what the F4 can do after the final battle in the movie The Incredibles showed off so much of the similar powers. The entire 3rd act had to be re-written as it went along....I don't think that is such a good sign. Alexander had tons of trouble as well)

As far as past work not counting, I'm sure some Batfans said that about Nolan as well...until of course the entire cast was announced, script leaks..etc.

The problem with Alexander is not it's numbers... it's the movie itself. I doubted Nolan too at the beginning... Memento was great, but I was bored with Imsomnia and I believed it was not the best decision. I was wrong with that one. With Singer it's not going to be an exception, I have my doubts especially considering directing Superman hasn't been precisly a comfortable position since 1993. We know nothing about the story, cast, costume, FX... we only know who is going to play Superman, an unknown that has a great look but who's acting is a big question mark, since most of us and the general public haven't seen him act. At this moment this movie is a little bit like Routh's acting... a big question mark. It could be awesome, but it can go disasterously wrong too... At this point the best advice is not to set your expectations very high...

It was also Ratner's and McG's dream project... I don't deny Singer has the fan support. But that comes only because he's the guy from the X-Men movies. We know NOTHING about this movie to be so sure that "the suit will be like this and the story will be that"... a lot of people thought that Nolan would make a Batman suit close to the comics at the beginning... Don't be so sure about what you say... you could be very dissapointed when you see what it really is... interviews sound very cool almost always...
Except that Singer is no Ratner nor McG, and he has almost total control about this movie, what is something that Ratner or McG didn't.

Singer has a profound respect for the original movies, he even told Dick Donner about his ideas... AND he told us about the suit.

From AICN.

Some people say it's dated, but I'm very much a fan of the 1978 Donner film. That film, particularly it's first act, was a complete, day-to-day inspiration to the first X-MEN film for all of us. It's very exciting to do it. As for Dick, I'm a huge fan of his, to be able to try to protect some semblance of this character and not mess around with it. One reason I thought the Caviezel rumors were interesting is because I do believe that Superman is the Jesus of superheros.

No director has total control over Superman. Not even Singer. That's not how studios work. If they worked like you said Jon Peters wouldn't be the producer for this film. Nolan also said his suit would be faithful. Interviews sound very good always (that doesn't mean that what they say on interviews is the TRUTH... in fact most times it's the contrary)... Donner is NOT Superman gospel... and show me one single quote by Bryan Singer where he tells anything from the suit...

Still, Singer is directing, is one of the producers, and visualized the story.... that's more more control that Ratner or McG had...

AND he's got his unknown actor for Superman... McG and Ratner's choices weren't approved by the studio...

Bryan Singer has said many times that the suit will be traditional... using some elements from the Spiderman costume (material, some padding)

And Singer is not Nolan...:o

Show me one of those many times then... McG's choices weren't approved by the studio? BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!! Do some research man: ROUTH WAS BROUGHT UP BY MCG!!! Singer is not Nolan... I know... Memento and Insomnia are superior movies than Usual Suspects, and let's not say of the X-Men franchise. You're putting your blind faith on this movie and you have a great chance of being disappointed... WB has approved and greenlit 3 or 4 more Superman projects other than this, one of them with Oliver Stone directing and William Wisher (Terminator 2) writing. If they can kick Stone out of this... they sure can kick Singer out of it... I repeat... WE DON'T KNOW ANYTHING ABOUT THIS MOVIE... can you tell me a single sentence from the script? Have you actually SEEN the suit to say it's awesome? Have you seen Routh's acting for more than 15 minutes straight? Do you know the rest of the cast? Have you seen the look of the sets? Have you seen the cinematography, or a single frame of movie? It's all a big question mark... too big to say "this movie will be awesome"... btw... if this has to start shooting by March and we're almost in January, they better announce the cast soon... that's smelling quite fishy...

Wow, what the hell...

You expect to know every single detail about the film in pre-production?

As for the rest of the cast, first quarter 2005...

your right on most of your post alonsovich but usual suspects was the equal of memento and better than insomnia

BB and Spider-man had script reviews all over the net 2 months before shooting... FF had them even before... As for the rest of the cast... the important role of BB were announced already 1 and a half month before shooting so unless they make an announcement in the next 15 days I'll assume they're having problems with that...

I think that's a matter of opinion. I was bored by both Usual Suspects and Insomnia, but Memento was superb...

very true,I personally thought memento was the best thriller since the usual suspects and both had great endings as for insomnia i saw it in the cinema and was a bit disapointed as i had enjoyed memento so much and am a big pacino fan,but when i got the dvd i enjoyed it the second time,i think it's a grower;)

you're right. we can't argu that. but as we still know nothing about the movie, shouldn't we be in positive and believe that this movie is gonna rock? isn' that what we want? i say we worry till we have heard any bad news regarding the movie. let's support singer all the way now.

I'm positive about the film. I'm just saying that we shouldn't have blind faith, which is a very different thing... having blind faith is likely to get some people disappointed by anything...

i want to believe this movie is gonna be awesome. is it a blind faith?
btw, i'm lying if i told you that i'm not paranoid at all about the movie as we still know nothing about it. i just care too much. i just want a script review...

No, that's not blind faith. I'm just recommending to be cautious... WB has given us too many crap in the past to trust that they won't make a bad move...

This humans are beggining to bore me...:o

Singer at NYU... just do a little search and you'll find...

Nolan said Batman's suit would be faithful to the comics... AND WHAT DOES THIS HAVE TO DO WITH SUPERMAN????? If Nolan lied... SINGER IS NOT NOLAN.

WHO THE **** SAID THE SUPES COSTUME WILL BE AWESOME IN SR??? You are the one who said the costume would be like the one in BB, and I said 'God, I hope not'.

Ratner and McG's choices weren't approved by WB... they wnated unknowns but WB wanted some stupid actor like Josh Hartnett or Ashton Kutcher...

What we know about this movie is that Singer is directing, he has a great respect for Donner's movie(s), it will not be an origin story, and some other things. I repeat: YOU ARE THE ONE WHO SAID THAT SUPES COSTUME WOULD BE LIKE BATMAN'S COSTUME.

Geez man... what happened to you?

Link please... that's how you argument the posts... Routh was approved by WB and was brought up by McG, sorry to tell you. I never said it's (the suit) going to be like in BB. I said "most likely, according to what WB thinks of superhero movies", big difference, instead you have been the one trying to say the contrary in every single of the posts answering me. And you say Singer is not Nolan... well, what if Singer is also lieing? I mean he says he has a great respect for Donner's movie and pitched him his idea... Of course he has... Donner has been his producer for the X-Men movies man... I'm sure he has respect for him, because if not he would've been fired and I'm pretty sure he's also pitched his idea to him. In fact I'm sure he's pitched 1000 different ideas for Superman in the 4 years he's been meeting with Donner every day... that doesn't mean he'll make his movie the same as Donner...

Like you're too lazy to do a quick search...

Did McG cast Routh as Superman? NO! He was a contender.. but he preferred Henry Cavill if you believe the rumours.

I said "most likely, according to what WB thinks of superhero movies"
According to Singer, it's not.

In fact I'm sure he's pitched 1000 different ideas for Superman in the 4 years he's been meeting with Donner every day
Oh, really ???...

that doesn't mean he'll make his movie the same as Donner
Who said that? I for sure didn't... Singer, Harris and almost everybody in this production said they won't "mess up" with the character, "it won't be a crazy re-working", Harris said.

If you want the source, do a quick search... this was all discussed before.

let's just say we still know nothing about the movie, though they promised they won't mess it up this time like previously did... but believe it or not... is all up to you.
