yeah, basically. The snow was the loose powdery stuff that only seems to happen out West here, never saw that kind of snow growing up back East.Ruthmarks said:Your story about driving in Kansas *does* sound scary. I'm just suffering from cabin fever, but I can't imagine the fun of driving in a blizzard. When you had to stop four hours from home, was it basically a white out condition where you couldn't even see a foot down the road?
And the storm had started out as freezing rain, so the roads were covered with an almost solid sheet of ice, the snow was getting heavy and the wind was whipping it around and the sun had gone down and I had the kids in the car.
And People were blowing by me like I was standing still and it was them that scared me more than anything.
It was when I'd seen some dude spin out in front of me (he was OK, just ended up pointing the wrong way on the side of the Interstate...) that I decided to pull over at the first opportunity... unfortunately, it was at least another hour before I got to an exit with a hotel.
There's a whole lot of nothing in Kansas, if you weren't aware...
You would have flown, which is what I shoulda done, so you woulda been fine.Ruthmarks said:I probably would have wrecked the car and died under a foot of snow. Hell, it rains here in California and nobody knows what to do.
As for California: I lived in there for awhile (up on the Monterey Peninsula) and you're right: you guys really don't know how to drive in weather...
