Actually I always thought in the face Tom Cruise looks a little like a mix between Christopher Reeve and Scott Wolf

They will now deny like suckers :D

Either that they'll just say: "I NEVER DOUBTED HIM FOR A SECOND!!!"

Damn Brandon looks good in the official pics.
Nice to see that the gym has bulked him up even more than before the role. :)

No, they've just said he "looks too much like Reeve" or that "he looks too dorky" or something of that nature (one even complained that Clark Kent didn't look "cool" -- not quite understanding that CK isn't supposed to be the cool guy).

But the rant that takes the cake is the poor guy from CHUD saying that he looks "like a drag queen." That is probably the most singularly inane and ridiculous "criticism" that I've seen yet -- and one more reason why CHUD is going the way of AICN.

Ok, here's an idea. Would it be unreasonable to start a "naysayers not allowed" thread for people who are excited about this movie and want to discuss it rather then fight with people who nitpick and ***** about every little thing? These discussion boards have become just one big warzone and it's lost most of its appeal imo.

Nah, everytime someone suggests that the naysayers leave about a topic, they make it known that it's their right to debate it. So it wouldn't really do any good.

Probably because it is their right to debate and dissent.

Very true. But too often the "right to debate and dissent" is used as a flimsy cover to "goad and trash."

Let me also add that a few people have made some very thoughtful comments on why they're concerned about the new film, and while I may not always agree, I can certainly see where they're coming from and respect that.

As long as they aren't going to personal insults I don't mind the naysayers coming in. I mean guys, we have the ammunition. Routh looks awesome, the movie is coming a long, etc... I could care less if naysayers come in. They are just entertainment for me as they deny the obvious, Routh has the look and there is potential for this to be a good movie :)

People like Alonsovich, Matt, The Incredible Hulk and I'm sure I'm missing a few names.

Seeing the development of the "Tom Welling Should Have Been Superman" thread in the SV forums, and the stuff that go on over there, I feel that we should atleast try to keep this thread alive.

well, lets get to it.
