As much as I enjoyed Widow in TWS, I wouldn't really be up for a solo film in the way people are pushing for. There's not much for her to do at this point in the MCU timeline since she's relegated to being the Avengers' co-captain at the moment, unless that's what the film's about, which could be interesting. The only other option is a prequel, which I'm generally not a fan of, especially here since we've heard her backstory numerous times now and seeing it play out would have no strong impact on me.
As for the overall issue with female heroes, most of Marvel's best are with the X-Men, so they may have to start tapping into the unexpected. Squirrel Girl, anyone? I'd also be up for some She-Hulk (whom I think could be the key to co-lead a Hulk "solo").
