My four word review of Star Trek: Best Star Trek .... EVER!

It's going to be tough for another movie this summer to beat this one. I think it's possibly even better than all the summer movies from last year.

Yes, Mutant Zero is Typhoid Mary. However, this wasn't revealed until after Secret Invasion and they still haven't explained things like how she only fights in small spurts and such. Due to the unanswered questions, we listed her as Typhoid Mary instead of Mutant Zero and chose to have her in the tournament prior to her becoming Mutant Zero. So whatever her last appearance was before Avengers: The Initiative. As far as my memory goes I think that was in Daredevil around issue 50 or so, but she may have showed up since then. I've not read it since Bendis left.

Actually, Mutant Zero JUST BARELY squeeks into the date....as we said, there are two criteria for the comics: one is when Secret Invasion ends, which also ties into the second, which is comics in the month of December. Well, Mutant Zero was determined to be Typhoid Mary on December 30, 2008, with issue #20 of Avengers: The Initiative. To me, she makes it by two days!!!

I say we let Mary be Mutant Zero on those grounds. What does everyone else think?

We can, but it actually makes her weaker because she can only fight in spirts before having to go back to whatever room that is to recharge, and by spirts I mean, like, 2 or 3 minutes at best. It's still unexplained as to why this happens so it'll basically come down to, can she beat Night Thrasher in 3 minutes? If not then what happens to her? And if NT can't take her down in 3 minutes, then what happens to her? Does she burn out? Ect. There's a lot of unknowns right now.

I'm okay with her being Mutant Zero if W wants that but I'm worried it might diminish the character some.

I agree, they took every campy element and made it totally badass.

TDK was still better in my mind, but it blew Iron Man out of the water.

If Mutant Zero is ill-defined, then I say avoid her. We have enough speculation during matches, and badly defined characters just add another level of confusion and speculation we don't need.

Though it may have to wait until Monday. I'll try to get a debate up tomorrow but with it being Mother's day and having my wife, my mother, my wife's stepmother, my wife's mother, and my wife's aunt to deal with.... plus church AND getting both of our cars fixed... it's going to be a busy day.

So it'll have to be Monday morning. I work 2nd shift and right after that I'll be going to my friend Malorie's house for Movie night (a new thing we're starting Mondays and Wednesdays) and won't be home until probably around 3am. So Monday morning, look for my debate.

Star Trek was a great movie, but I don't think it's necessarilly going to be the best movie of the summer. I have high hopes for Terminator: Salvation and Transformers 2.

Does Rachel lose this during X-Men: Kingbreaker? If it happens then, you still have the Phoenix Echo, because that was an ongoing mini that recently just ended. From what I read, this is probably true, and you have the power for this contest.

Thing is with Typhoid as Mutant Zero, she can only be put into action once per mission. Thus, she'd HAVE to take every character out with her opening salvo and it's got to be quick. Not sure why it has to happen that way but that's it. During the M.I.A. battle she showed up once, saved Gyrich, and vanished. That's it. During World War Hulk she showed up, took down some Death's Head machines, and vanished, and that's it. I don't recall what she did during Secret Invasion. So I think she's really at a liability there.

Mutant Zero is pretty cool but not much information as she just comes in quickly, does her thing and goes. Has some amazing stealth abilities.

Yeah, it's just filled with questions. She's cool for the spirts she's in, but no other info is given as to why she can only be activated once per mission or why she has to sit in a room for hours at a time, etc. Or what the repercussions of what she does would be if she broke the rules. Typhoid is the best option.

Well, the fair thing to do would be to let you have her since you already debated a match with her and won, so even though it stinks to lose Marvel Girl, I'll consider her yours.

No, Harlekin gets to keep Marvel Girl - Valeria, and you now have Marvel Girl, Rachel. Both are pretty powerful, so you still have a great character.
