I think lose the Z on the chest. It becomes a bit much having everyone's initial posted on their chest.

Maybe go for a colour instead of the grey but have it darkened?
I think no red as its on Supermans suit already.

Would Supermans suit be made using the same boots?
Would you have an alien suit for Superman?

I like it, after camp Blood mentioned the shoulder cape like Assassins Creed and Boba Fett, I think I slightly changed my stand on the whole villain cape thing

not too shaby egarza...nice step away from Donner's version, but the dark colors and the goatee still feel like the Zod we've come to know. personally, i'd like to see a Zod that doesn't resemble Donner's version at all.

I knew the shoulder cape would look wicked on zod, but egarza did great on that and I actually really like the Z strap it's clever and unless your looking for a Z you won't realize it

It's has almost a oppressive feel to the suit, like a nazi uniform. I look at him and instantly feel like I am going to be caned

Nice artwork indeed, but a bit too militant IMO and not sleek enough.

I was thinking more something like The Eradicator. He looks pretty badass and it would be nice if they used an older approach for the suit like with Superman. Dont be afraid to use skintight materials and a cape.
The mask comes off later, of course.

The ridiculous thing about this concept is that while it is possible in physics to compress something that small, it would be impossible to uncompress it. Take a slice of Wonder Bread and squeeze it into a little ball, and then try to stretch it back out. Not so easy, is it? That's basically what Superman would have to do to his costume if he could squish it down that small, and it's the same reason that Flash keeping his costume inside a ring is ******ed.

It's a COMIC BOOK. None of it is realistic. Plus it's not just any costume, it's Superman's costume and it's not just anyone compressing and decompressing it, it's a guy who can move the Earth and fly through the sun.

As for Zod, he can have a cape or not. Main thing is he needs to be clean-shaven, as Shannon has an impressive jawline, and he doesn't need Terrence Stamp's disco outfit.

good news about them releasing a picture. seems to be the status quo now-a-days to avoid negative word of mouth through crappy leaked photos by releasing an official, controlled photo before-hand.

anywho, here's my take on Zod...

...a lil' uninspired but it's a quickie and this is GENERALLY (pun intended) what i'd like to see.

The latest I think we'll see it will be at San diego comic-con, but it could be sooner. Henry has been working out full time for six weeks so at some point they'll need to fit him for finalized costume. IIRC Chris Hemsworth had to back off on his training regimen a little as it made his costume so tight it was cutting off the blood flow. I'm sure they have a good idea of how big they want Henry to get, so possibly they have a stand in that is close to that size in order to prototype the finished article prior to him being fully film ready?

btw I'd love for them to slowly reveal the costume over a number of weeks. One week perhaps a shot from behind ,over the shoulder cape picture in heavy shadow, the next a portion of boot and leg. Kind of a reverse (Superhero) strip tease lol. Finally they reveal the whole thing in an iconic setting/pose. A pose that looks dynamic & powerful. The initial SR poses looked very staid imo. This first picture needs to stop people in their tracks and have them say "WOW! F*** Yeah!

i didn't see any skin-tight costumes or trunks on the outside in the previews...

i'd just like to see them get away from the dark look that he's normally associated with and have them go with something that looks like it could have possibly inspired Superman's costume...but thanks for your blunt opinion.

A long military style coat maybe but a sleek modern version

Plus that can replace the cape

Not saying I want this exact coat but it's a start, loose the buttons make it tighter on top maybe have a overlaying lapel work a belt in for sure

As blunt as it is, wasn't meant to be rude.
Design wise, the arms and legs piping is pretty much the exact piping the X-Men movie costumes had from X1-3.

And putting a yellow V on the torso doesn't make it look much different from the different but similar designs of the First Class.

Adding black trunks(that don't seem to work with the design anyway) doesn't make it much different; and personally, the trunks don't look good to me there. Maybe if the hood cape was black as well?
