LOL! I wondering when this was going to happen when I added the above and BAM!

The best thing SR did was make it easier to let go of Reeve as the only Superman and that costume made it easier for me at least to accept the new one. I would have never thought I would ever like anything but the classic costume but I like this one. I would prefer the trunks, but I can deal with it.
Hows that for a segue.

It's no surprise at all that this is the superior design. Not that the trunkless costume looks terrible, but this is the clear winner.

I agree with the bolded part. That costume is the best of all different varieties I've seen. Maybe the 'S' on his chest might need some tuning up, it looks a bit stretched, but otherwise, that's the costume I've would've liked to see. No trunks just doesn't look right.... as I've said before... more than once... actually.

He was big enough for my tastes. And Brandon is still taller, which helps to be more impossing. Besides, it's more than just about the huge 'muscles' for me; it is also about the way the actor carries himself. To me and others Brandon carried himself like Superman. He also has the right voice. But I'm done with this, I KNOW I'm not going to change anyone's mind..

Can you imagine how imposing he must look to me! I'm only 5' .... He must be a giant compared to me! I need a foot tall heels to get even close! And then in the Superman suit, wow, I think I'd shiver.

Routh's obviously very tall. That's never been an issue, but height alone doesn't make a Superman. Something about his appearance just didn't look right for the role in my opinion; and the way the SR production team altered his looks even further didn't help a whole lot.

The same can be said of Welling. That guy was cool as a young Clark Kent, but I could never picture him in the Superman suit.

Yeah, I still remember what the reaction was like from fans when the first official pic of Routh as Superman was released. Almost everyone was hoping they would change it before filming got started. Obviously that didn't happen though.

I know its been said, but thank goodness we got a true blue eyed Superman again, not only that but Cavill is no doubt a Superman/Clark Kent pulled right out of the comicbooks, im extremely looking forward to 2013. Can't wait to see a trailer, heck even a poster, this movie is gonna rock

What sucks is they cast this perfect guy for Superman then they stick him in a costume that looks like a cross between Swan Lake and Xanadu.

Considering what we could have gotten from another movie incarnation of the Superman suit, Cavill's uniform is not the worst that could have happened.
We have a great sized "S", the boots look spot-on and the cape attachment is the best I have ever seen. The cape itself is good too, albeit a bit long to my tastes.

But I think that something still needs to "be done" in the mid-section to break things up. However, the trunks are gone and that is that.

I'd certainly rather have Cavill in this suit than the SR suit.

He'd have pulled it off better than Routh, but it is what it is. A horrible plasticy cheap looking thing.

I think the new suit is going to look great in fight scenes, especially the way it enhances Henry's muscles, and the richness of the texture.

It was so disappointing after seeing all the behind the scenes stuff on the DVD with Brandon training in the flying rigs. Then getting almost all CGI flying in the movie.

You know, that happens a lot. Actors training and training and training even more, and then it isn't used on film. I've seen it so many times and it bugs me more than I'd care to admit.
