The Official Dark Avengers Thread

lol "Noirclops" :p

As far as Mighty Avengers goes....I really hope it becomes more like what the Avengers used to be. "Many fighting battles too much for one man alone."

I would love if Bucky would lead the team as Captain America. That would rock.

Captain America
Beast
Wonder Man
Wasp
Iron Man
Justice

This is the team I would love to see. (Can you tell what era of Avengers I loved.) :O
That would be pretty cool. I'd just replace Wonder Man with Thor, myself.

What the **** just happened to the threads?

But without Wonder Man we couldn't have anymore of the awesome Beast/Wonder Man banter. :(

Geez, just when I make a decision to cut back on the number of books I order, they come up with what? FOUR new ones that I'd love to check out? I'm gonna need a second job just to pay for my comic book habit. :p

It looks like they'll have powers, though. Unless Noirclops just favors red-tinted shades for some reason.

Yeah, but I think one of the interviews said that in many cases they would be effectively powerless.

Though I just don't like the general Noir theme as something to mesh the Marvel Universe with.

Just sell your body on the corner like I do.

LOL, I'm probably too old to do that. Do you suppose anyone will take my blood? I'm a girl so semen is out.... :p

*cough* Egg donor *cough*

Ah, don't do it Squeekness. Comic books can be as bad as Crack. :p

I agree. When are we going to see "Sunshine Avengers" and "X-Men Rainbows"?

I'm waiting for "gritty avengers" first. You know, to go with the whole "dark and gritty" thing they're shooting for.

I have to admit, news of Bendis leaving MIGHTY AVENGERS before the end of the year is probably the best Christmas present I could imagine. Has it been announced who is replacing him? All these threads got merged and I don't feel like wading through posts while at lunch. ;)

Jeph Loeb with Ramos on art duties.

Just kidding! :p

Good one.

Having Millar on Ultimate Avengers I wonder may be a testimonial to the lack in faith of Loeb. Which is justified.

I like much of Loeb's work, but Ultimates Vol 3 is pretty bleh...as is Hulk. :down

It seems I like him on Superman best. Go fig.

I kinda feel bad for Miller since it seems as long as he is with Marvel he will mostly be stuck in the Ultimate universe.

Excessive use of the word "dark" is kind of throwing a damper on the latter for me, too.

At least with DC the stuff their doing post-FC (Flash: Rebirth, the new Batman status-quo, Justice League, etc.) can be either really freaking awesome or really dumb giving you that excitement.

Dark Avengers, Dark Reign, Marvel Noir, and Ultimate Avengers just sound dumb. The worst part of Dark Reign is that it'll probably be more like Decimation, the Initiative, and Aftersmash where they promise big changes and nothing will be the same again but everything feels the same ol', same ol'.

To be fair, Decimation did its share of major changes and damage. Heck, it was due to Decimation that most of the young mutants that were around are either dead or comatose. Plus it led to New Warriors, which was a pretty big shift in status quo for many ex-mutants.

I generally agree, big changes are usually nothing to write home about...but Decimation did shake things up like they promised it would.

I don't think so. Ultimate Avengers doesn't sound like the typical Ultimates book. They'll still probably do the Loeb/McGuiness Ultimates 4 miniseries along with Ultimate Avengers and Ultimate Spider-Man.

You mean by bringing the X-Men back to their original status quo to where they're a persecuted minority hated and feared by normal humans.

It took Messiah Complex and Manifest Destiny to feel like the X-Men are doing something different, not Decimation.
