How about Conan O Brien as the Riddler???
That is friggin amazing. why didnt i come up with that. It would be cool but the cone zone isnt really in to many movies. I doubt Ed Nigma will be in TDK but maybe the 3rd.

Conana would have worked well for joker even better.

idk about that. He is to funny you want the joker to be Friggen scary.

nah al though Jimmy Kimmel on the other hand....

When BB was filming I always imagined Don Cheadle for the Riddler, I always thought his style of acting would fit Nolan's vision.

Me too. He just has this Riddler quality to him that I can't really put to words very well.

I'd love if he were cast. And I could care less about skin color. The content of their character's what counts etc. And like Ultimatefan says, fanboys should be open to being pleasently surprised and such. Oh and the movie's not the comic. I always loved that one.

My first choice is, and always has been Ed Norton. Hugh Laurie's pretty good too. If they were basing it on TAS though, DHP would be perfect. But they shouldn't, becuase Norton would be an amazing Riddler.

I've read some really good responses already (Edward Norton, and maybe Zach Braff could work), but I'd want to see William H. Macy do it.

Imo, I think he would seemlessly fit into the role, but Nolan might say that he was too old for the part. Nigma was alway an intellectual adversary, so I was going w/ the notion that Macy's age wouldn't matter for this character.

very lil work need to be done on these pics, just adding some green for the hyell

He does seem like an intimidating nerd.........I'd go with it.

I think Hugh Laurie's a little too old... Sam Rockwell could probably pull it off, but he's more suited to playing ******ed characters.

I just don't see the mania in Zach Braff for the Riddler... I don't know, I'm still a big fan of Jim Carrey :p

Let's please keep anyone in the cast from the previous series 100 miles away from this one. Don't get me wrong, I like the movies from 89 to 95 (B and R don't exist in my world), but that was then this is now, leave them in the past.

Some really good names have came up so far. But the ones that stand out for me is...

Ed Norton

Brent Spiner

David Hyde Pierce.

Andyone of those three would be great.

well, if your looking for someone younger, how about (depending on how good that "The science of sleep” movie does) Gael García Bernal, I personal have never seen anything else he’s been in, but, from what I’ve seen about that movie, he probably well be showcasing some characteristic of a Nigma type character, and if the movie becomes a big hit, or wins any awards, it might catch Nolan’s eye, Just a thought

Ed Norton would be my choice because I know he could include that charm Riddler has. brent Spiner could too yet, considering Nolan seems to be casting younger versions of Batman Villians, Norton might fit better.

Gael García Bernal is an inspired choice but I just dont get riddler from him. He would make a great Two Face! By the way he has been incredible in all of his movies, though, I havent seen Science of Sleep yet.

I see The Riddler being a detective more than being a silly goose as he was in Batman Forever. Riddler would be one of the more brilliant characters of the DCU if he wasn't so distracted with his riddles.

he's in babel which looks like a really good movie coming out soon

jim carrey was a little over the top for the riddler, if he toned it down just a bit, i think it would be perfect for nolan's batman

however, i wouldn't want to use him again, but i am undecided right now

none of the names mentioned so far have stood out to me as "oh he should be the riddler"

ill have to come back to this thread

Jim Carrey could have given a whole lot better performance than what he did. Carrey has proven that he is a good actor with some of his early work and a few recent films.

As for who play's The Riddler in an upcoming Bat-film, I'm all for Ed Norton for the role of The Riddler.

I could live with NOT seeing the Riddler in another Batman movie. What does he really provide aside from limeric-based detective work for Batman? And as I recall...Batman ALWAYS gets the riddle...so Riddler's not all that good at what he does, is he? ;)

Personally, I would love to see ALL serious actors in EVERY role in the future films. People like John Malkovich or even Ed Norton would surprise the audience if the character turned out on the quarky/odd side like Jim Carrey's as it wouldn't be a given that thats how the character would be portrayed from the very beginning. I just don't want to see an outright comedian playing the Riddler ever again... or any other character for that matter...

Thats a fairly huge part of Batman to put in the "aside from" category :(

By this logic, we should get rid of all Batman villains in Batman movies.
Not all, but quite a few, yeah.

Riddler
Poison Ivy
The Penguin
Bane
Mad Gatter
ManBat
Ventriloquist

to name a few

Intersting how you strategically boldfaced the object without paying attention to the classification. Right...no detective work please...that's was exactly what I was saying. Sharper than a bowling ball, this one. ;)
