maybe he's waiting to see how the Irredeemable Ant-Man series does.

i'm not sure what to expect in the way of updates to script. it's just supposed to be a tales to astonish-style flashback; followed by Marvel Premiere-style Ant-Man origin. casting is pretty much a non-issue. not my choice for the character but i can already see Simon Pegg wearing the costume.

I really hope we get this version of modern Ant-Man, and the classic look for the 60's version only

i'm just guessing but they'll probably use the same costume for both; just to cut down on cost.

I just love the mask

Actually, this suit is pretty sick too,
I'm good as long as his face is fully covered by a cool mask lol

Bruce Campbell would work in this one huh? If he could lose some weight.

if it's a comedy, he would.

It's not going to be a "comedy" but it should be a "tongue in cheek" type film like Shaun but with action overtones instead of horror.

Is this film focusing on only Hank Pym?
No. The film is going to be focusing on both Hank Pym and Scott Lang. With Pym being the one to first don the Ant-Man suit. With a Tales of Astonish type of style. And then introduce Scott Lang, with him having the "criminal to unlikey hero" angle, as Pym's successor.

I wish we knew how far along the script was or if they were searching for the cast yet???

Wow, I can't wait for this film now. That sounds AWESOME, should be a very good hero flick.

Is there any casting happening now? :word:

There hasn't been any news on whether or not someone is being looked at for either Pym or Lang. Nor any official casting announcements. Or thoughts on who the villain(s) might be, as well as which supporting characters will be included.

At the Marvel panel I remembered Edgar talking briefly about a few things of interest but nothing new whatsoever since then.

Well here's something to hold us over as far as EW news:

<H3 class=entry-header>Hot Fuzz and Hitcher clips online
TheHitcher.jpg
There's a few very short clips for Hot Fuzz and The Hitcher remake online mixed in a Rogue Pictures promo teaser. The teaser was pulled quite quickly but has been recovered and put online for us all to download.
I warn you now, the clips are very short and the Hot Fuzz one we've seen before. Still, it's something for you fans out there. Oh, and there's no real sign of Sean Bean as the Hitcher yet, the film does looks very dark, which is a good thing.
You can download the clip from Megaupload or Rapidshare, and it comes through the guys at Movie-List Forums and Solace in Cinema.
See, not much to see. I told you! Still, it's something.

I really hope that Lang isn't just a criminal in the movie, he was a smart dude in the comics and he wasn't even a full time crook

if they go by the marvel premiere story, they'll likely just have him be a down-on-his-luck engineer who steals to provide for his family (might just be the daughter in this one). i'm warming up to the idea of Simon Pegg getting the Lang role. he's goofy-looking but i guess that would make him a more sympathetic lead. and i already know that he can act (great performance in Mission Impossible III). but who to play Pym or Cassie. what big name actor would agree to play a comic book hero in flashback; taking backseat to Simon Pegg for part of it? Cary Elwes maybe. i picked him mainly because he's a brit but also because he has that generic hero look to him. both he and Pegg are about the right age.

i might also note that Simon Pegg and Scott Lang are, both, Star Wars fans.

my back up casting is still Simon Baker (Smith, Land of the Dead, LA Confidential)

You're Hank Pym. Shouldn't you be the one to know the answer?

LOL! And you're Batman, and you're right. :D

I just heard of the film not too long ago, but I've been a LONG time Ant-Man fan since I could remember. Love this character a lot. So you can see I'm excited for it. So is Janet going to be in the film?

Really, the only characters confirmed are Pym and Lang. Though with Pym being the first to don the Ant-Man suit, the possibility of Janet appearing as his assistant first or wife, isn't completely out of thought. Even if there hasn't been any news on whether or not she'll appear or become Wasp.
