You're really not a man if you haven't got the 100 ignots, found all the locations in Point Lookout and all the alien recordings. :o

Deathclaws freak me the hell out too, but there is nothing more awesome than rolling three deep with Charon and Dogmeat. I'm doing that with my new "balanced" character (she has 40-48 in every skill), it's awesome to see tag team VATS kills. Took me hours to see Dogmeat finish off someone in VATS, but it took Charon only half an hour. I haven't made the dartgun again yet, but I went to the Deathclaw Sanctuary at lvl5 and just just used the two Fatman shots for 2 deathclaws. Haven't used it again since, even though I have 7 mininukes.

Speaking of the Fatman, I did the GNR mission this time, and that Behemoth battle was ****ING CRAZY. So sad that an early quest had a more epic battle than the final boss. How Bethesda screwed over the final fight is beyond me. The last boss should have used FEV on his ass and turned into The Abomination or The Leader or something, am I right? What's with my two fave current gen games (F3 and Bioshock) having weak final bosses, both of which having multiples encounters that are harder before them???

Oh, and to the point of this post, lol; I wanted to know if anyone got the random encounter I just did. I had passed up the room of the crazy fire ant scientist, and after getting Grady's key, I found his safe and took out the naughty nightwear. No sooner did I put it on and check out my chick in her new/old raggedy ass dress, than this green-haired Raider named Lugnut ran in and demanded I hand over the naughty nightwear!!! I passed a speech test that convinced him it was better off with me, but does anyone know if I encountered my first random encounter (besides the generic Talon strike teams ambushing me in the Wasteland)? Oh, and I found the Firelance, I just didn't see the spaceship crash or hear anything.

P.S. I feel lame for getting all excited like eveyone else was like thirty pages ago, but I just borrowed F3 from my friend a month ago, so bite me. I''ll buy the GOTY edition whenever it comes out, and I have no other games to play, or books to read.

P.P.S Unless you like boredom, don't make the same mistake I did, and try for the "perfect character". It's is mind-numbing to go looking around the Wastes for the 250 skillbooks, and my character isn't good at anything. I'll just find the bobbleheads and explore to my hearts content, that is until I hit 20. Then I'll make a third character, who will do the survival guide missions, and then murder every last Megaton inhabitant, and bounce over to Tenpenny Tower.

Does anyone have tips on NOT running out of ammo ? Or are there kick ass glitches of some kind ?

They made animal perk for people like you. Thru no research at all, I have come to the conclusion that animals are the biggest black holes of lost ammo, crappy aim being a distant 2nd. Deathclaws will attack no matter what, but you won't have to randomly waste ammo on ants, yao gui, mole rats, rabid dogs, bloat flies, or any other creature while scouring the Wastelands. Haven't invested in this perk myself, but on the very hard difficulty, it would be invaluable. Next character I make, I'm putting one rank into it, cuz whenever I went to Grayditch in the beginning I would always use up my ammo supplies on the filthy buggers, they only give you rad-infested food and nectar back.

It's even greater when they start defending you LOL its truly a great game.

You can blow up Megaton and still do the survival guide missions.

Wicked. I heard Moria turned into a ghoul, can't wait to see that. If I was blind, I'd think Tulip was the sexiest character in the game. After Nova, of course.:fhm:

And who here has met Uncle Leo? Dude is awesome, and makes me miss Fawkes, since on my new save I'm rolling with Charon. Charon is a new change of pace, but when I get to Fawkes in the story, he's fired. He just killed an Enclave radio I had been shooting at with his bare hands!! Don't get why super mutants are either zen masters or cold-blooded killers, but whatevz.:hehe:

Just got an e-mail from X-Box thanking me for downloading all 5 DLC and giving me a code for a free premium theme for Fallout 3.

Yeah I know....a $50 theme. LOL

After accidently saving over my first game with a (with a genius player and 69,000 caps)

I've restarted and finally gotten back on track. Got the my lab in megaton again. Some decent weapons. Only 12,000 caps so far but it will climb up again.

I'm kinda dreading having to go back through all these subway tunnels again downtown.

How do you set those up?? I got the "medical" one and I don't know what to do or how to set it up

You just buy it, then go to the your home in either Megaton or Tenpenny Tower, it will be in there somewhere. You go up to it and it will prompt you to interact with it.

Wow!...never realized that there's a fallout forum here!

I'm a fallout addict! ever since i bought the game couple of months ago.

And now...i loved the game even more since i found out how to do the multiple companions glitch, the gary glitch etc hehe

^^ yup!

You can read all about it on fallout wiki btw.

Basically, it's glitch on operation Anchorage that, using a body of a dead Gary clone, allows you to keep all the stuff that you get on the simulation, such as the winterized combat armor, the Gauss rifle and literally thousands of bullets.

It's pertty usefull since the stuff you brought back from the sim are virtually indestructible. Moreover , your follower WILL use stuff you get from the sim!

As for the bulllets, it's even more usefull if you have the Pitt, since you can, using the ammo press, converts any bullets to those rare '44 magnum ...or the '308 for example.

So if I buy Fallout 3: GOTY Edition to replace my current copy of F3 (which I have no DLC for), will I be able to carry over the data that I already have from the non-GOTY edition, or does that only work if you download the expansions?

I finally got the GOTY edition. Love it! I'm not that far in yet, just heading to Rivet City for the first time. I may side-track and do the Those! quest first though.

What level roughly would any of you suggest I hit before I go to the Pitt or Point Look Out?

And do any of the medical or ammo boxes ever regenerate their content? Like will the Raiders ever retake the Super Duper Mart and restock what i've already taken?
