In the IGN review they stated the first 5 or 6 hours were really slow to get into, but it really took off from there. If you're liking it from the off, it bodes well.

On a side note, I hate everyone who gets to play this game before February.

Well one thing a bit annoying about the game is that it's noticeably tougher compared to other Final Fantasies I've played this far. I'm pretty sure players are bound to come across a lot more "Game Over" screens in this one.

Apparantly some of the monsters you stumble across in the field are tougher than you can handle. It's not as separated as it used to be in terms of levels.

Yeah, I mean you just randomly run into some big monster thinking you can handle but get your ass kicked without notice. And it's not even easy to flee from the buggers considering they won't let you run away without giving a good chase and landing a couple of attacks to your back while they're at it.

only if you don't pay attention. stay away from yellows and reds and it shouldn't be a problem.

Fran's voice is sexy. The Judges are badass.

A few hours in, it feels like Phantom Menace crossed with FF9....heavy MMO influence...only complaints so far are the jerky vocal recording qualities, and **** load times/zones.

I'm thinking this will become a favorite....

That's what I thought too at first, but he's really not that badass. He seems more like the caring, fatherly type... Fran seems more like Auron.

Maybe a mix of Auron and Lulu. She's mysterious, sexy and kickass. She must get the sexiness from Auron.

Ashe is a ***** so far. The haughty, stuck up ***** you wanna boink to put her in her place.

I don't think we'll ever get an Auron in FFXII. Maybe that's a good thing though. Auron was too amazing and memorable a character to be imitated with half-assed efforts.

So, I'm in the Luhju Mines or whatever, and there's areas where skeletons will endlessly respawn. I set my gambits up so I can just leave the room, and my characters will keep killing them and then heal themselves. It's pretty sweet for leveling.

I would love to be playing FF XII right now. I really hate when stores don't have the games in yet. So I'll have to wait till thursday to get it because I between work and school I can't get it tommorow.

The Good: Inspired art direction and a strong cast of characters draw you into the world; lengthy quest spans dozens of hours of gameplay; redesigned strategic combat system offers considerable depth and complexity; all battles are fought in context while exploring, so no random encounters; excellent music and voice acting.

The Bad: The gambit and license-board systems are complicated to get used to; a bit too much running around back and forth in some spots.

One question. If I remove Vaan from the party and stick three other characters...Does that means he's off the map too? Or are we stuck with him in towns?

lol...Mine has been working fine as well. I only get 2 DREs with Virtua Fighter 4 Evolution and MGS2S, but other than those, my PS2 works fine after 5 years
