The Official Flash thread - Part 1

I believe Vertigo has released three or four trades. More are coming just very slowly.

Honestly ever since Barry came back, the dc universe feels like there hasn't been a Flash or Superman. What the hell is Wally doing? Bart seems to be like the only active Flash.

Is that just because you aren't reading Flash? or Green Lantern? or Superman?

Gail Simone isn't doing the secret seven book thank god

I am disappointed but Milligan is a fab writer too

And Simone still writes the ongoing comic book so i can enjoy that

well they are saying it might be a jla book and not have anything to do with simones book

I'mma buy Secret Seven because Milligan be :awesome: and Shade the Changing Man will be in it

Secret Seven is one of the Whatever happened to science and magic comic books isn't it

Science!

I have no idea what this Flashpoint event is but after Batman RIP I'm staying well clear of "events". Aslong as it doesn't mess with the main series too much I'll be happy.

Nah it's cause none of them are interesting at all.
Not reading them and not finding them interesting are pretty much the same thing... But I'm glad you got to express your distaste... Again. I almost forgot.

Batman RIP wasn't an event.

Well arguebly it was, but really it was just Morrison's arc and DC deciding to add "RIP" and later "Last Rites" to the other titles, such as Nightwing which we're very loosely tied to RIP.

How was it not an event? I've only just this year got a decent Batman book back because of it screwing everything around.

It was a high profile story in a Batman comic run. It's like saying Hush was an event.

"Hush" didn't have tie-ins or connections to other events. I'd say RIP is an event. Morrison may not have intended it to be, but DC came along and added all this ancillary junk onto his story so that it became one. Similar to how Chaos War was intended by the writers to be the last arc of Incredible Hercules, only Marvel canceled iHerc and then built an event around that arc.

But RIP wasn't a very big event, if that's any consolation. :oldrazz:

I hated RIP. The best thing to come out of it was the Detective: Heart of Hush story. everything else was just bad.

the best RIP stories were the ones that bridged the gaps between RIP and FC.

Were any of the RIP tie ins any good

They weren't anything to do with RIP just took place around the same time and playing off the main plot points (ie Batman gone). Like the comics would do if they didn't have a banner on them.

I blame marketing, DC and Marvel just know that Banners sell comics now.

I debated posting this is in the Stupid Questions thread but I guess it can go here - how have Flash sales been since Flash: Rebirth and beyond?
