The Official Flash thread - Part 1

Yeah, Rebirth sold bonkers and the others have kept steady, but have dropped little by little. Delays probably haven't helped that much either. I'm sure Flashpoint will turn that around, though.

Wally was in this week's issue. :yay:

But he and Bart just stood around and watched Iris talk to Barry on the phone. :csad:

I agree with the others that Geoff needs to keep up and try not push back the titles with the delays. It does get hard to keep track of the series.

Otherwise, I read The Flash #9 and it was awesome. Short but awesome. I just wish..there was more characterization for Barry. I know he's noble and down to earth, but keep him some playful banter with Iris or something.

I can't believe it's already flippin out of print. Now I have to go hunt around town for the hardcover version that will last for more than a couple years.

DC let that go out of print? Well, can't say I'm all that surprised, though. DC's trade department is pretty sad. At least they're hotgunning the first trade for the series

So are Flash sales down because of bad writing or because of delays?

Well, that's kind of an impossible question to answer for sure, but it's probably just natural drops that most titles that aren't the constant Top 10-20 sellers do. It was big and hyped coming out of Rebirth, but the hype has died down, and the sells drop some. Delays, though, probably did have something to do with since they were pretty bad from what I recall. But, as I said, I'm sure when Flashpoint comes out it'll jump back up, at least for the event, if not even longer.

I'd say it's the delays too. People who read it seem pretty happy with it, but even the best-written comic won't stay high on the charts if there are big delays and there hasn't been much hype to tell readers it's important to everything else. Flashpoint will certainly fix the latter, but Manapul just has to draw faster for the former, and that's kind of hard.

;_;

It makes me :csad: Corp

I miss Mark Waid writing this comic book
Eh, I'm often leery of old writers coming back to books they had great runs on. The newer work often isn't as good as the old stuff because I've had years of reverence for the old stuff by then. Case in point: Tom Peyer did way better with the West family stuff than Waid did when he came back.

That said, DC would score major brownie points with me if they'd just f***ing release the rest of Waid's run in trades already. Or, at the very least, the Walter West stories, which totally deserve to be read by every Flash fan who may have missed them the first time around. They're great, DC, so just collect them and print some goddamn trades already! :cmad:

Darn right the Walter West stories were fun on a bun

I really enjoyed those comic books would be neat if they were out in trade

I'm afraid I'm not familiar with the Walter West stories. :o

Neither are a lot of people, which is exactly why DC should release trades of them. :o

mysti is a terrorist claiming jihad on straight people!

just read #9, FM's art never gets old. Also, got me semi-excited for Flashpoint
