so why is bradley cooper being mentioned so much? seems like he is wrong for the flash. is this because he is popular now?, c'mon give some new people a chance. it would be much better to go find a new guy and have him be known as the flash, then the guy from "insert movie title".

He was Casper in human form in Casper, the best part of SLC Punk, the main characters in Final Destination and Slackers. He's been in NCIS and Nikita and a handful of indie movies.

Actually it’s quite the opposite - he’s pretty good for the part, and people have been mentioning him long before he was such a big name. Primarily based on his Will Tippin character from Alias, which is a lot like Barry. It's just now that more people have heard of him from Hangover A-Team and the likes asume that must be all he can play, who are saying he's wrong.

He wouldn't be pretending to be the brooding dark tortured type, or pretending to be the cocky overconfident *****ebag, he is neither. He pretty much needs to be his regular self - kind of an inquisitive, charming nice guy, who wants to do right by everyone, but because of it, gets himself into enormous trouble. Which is perfect for Barry.

He’s certainly not the only guy who can do it, but it makes sense some fans have glommed onto him for the part. He’s a pretty damn good choice for the Flash, at Wondercon when asked who would make a good Flash Reynolds recommended Cooper, which got pretty big applause. And we also know Cooper is willing to go out for a DC/WB CBM role already.

Though, if there is no JL movie and Flash is due to come out by itself, I can totally see WB playing it safe and going for a big name in the role of Flash.

Like they did with GL and Ryan Reynolds.

I don't think much of the lesser-knowns and up and comers have much of a shot in that scenario.

Idk. Up and comers do get a shot...but the question is will WB/DC cast one. I hope they do.

Considering how talent like Michael Fassbender and others were thrown out in favor of a more recognizable and bankable name to sell GL (Ryan Reynolds), I don't have much faith they'll cast a lesser known as Flash... which IMO is project WB doesn't have much faith in given it's production hell history.

That was the old project.

The new project is a whole different take and is moving ahead, being written by Berlanti’s GL team and Michael Goldenberg.

I mean theyve had writers (and directors) on the project before. I'll believe it's happening when the cast if officially locked down.

But I think if GL doesnt do so well commercially or critically, it'll affect Flash
