Just voted on the poll... WOW! Can't believe so many people voted for Barry Allen! Wally West is clearly, CLEARLY the best character for a Flash film. You need that charisma and personality for the film.

How can you say Wally is "clearly" the best character? By your standards maybe, but that's simply opinion. Barry's my favorite, and he's the one that gave birth to a new era in DC comics. Besides, I find him way more interesting than Wally by many miles.

again, i really that it'll take a couple of years for some people to embrace Barry. He didn't have that much modern stories and 'Rebirth' was a little messy...BUT the new series by Johns is great.

i as others know dont know much on all the flashs or most dc characters in general. But i think each flash has their good and bad points. So each character should have the chance to be developed and be well rounded. TRue from what i heard wally has been developed well since he was the current flash past 20 or so yrs. But then on the flipside barry been gone for that time, and writing from the 50s-70s wasnt that great in the first place. So give it time modern barry could become a wonderful great character too.

I hate the fact that Iris looks like a twenty year old in the new series but in the short lived Bart series she looked like a grandma? She had to have had some work done....

At some point, in some form of sequel, I want a time travelling Flash movie.
My guess is the first movie will be against the Rogues, as a group. Giving Barry more then enough to tackle, and showcasing a variety of his powers and skills. Pretty much everything short of time-travel.
And the second movie will be about time-travel against the classic Zoom aka Eobard Thawne, time traveling villain from the future who will challenge him on a whole new level.

Within the Flash series time is flexible. Kids grow up in a year, Iris lived for decades trapped outside of time writing Barry's Biography. Time and time travel is something they always play around with.

Yeah I prefer her to be the age she was meant to be, the same age as Barry, or Lois Lane, or Carol Ferris or any other of her contemporaries. Aging her to look that old was a retcon anyway for that series, no need to cling to that. Bart is still from the future that hasn't changed and is what matters, no reason for her to have been retconned that old, whith her proximity to the speed force time has fluctuated for her, Wally's kids were older once then quickly deaged, Bart was older too then, and now simply deaged to his more appropriate and popular age, this is nothing new, she's fine the way she is now, and looks great.
And for the movie they will no doubt cast her appropriately, about the same age and a contemporary of Barry's, as it should be.

yea if they are going to have barry/iris be around 28-30 yrs old. i could see them casting anywhere between 24-33 yrs old for both. So you can play around with a few yrs younger or a few yrs older.

I can see Alicia Witt as Iris Allen.

I think Manapul's style tends to depict all characters to look a bit younger then they are, or less worn-out I think better describes it. Van Sciver's take or Ivan Reis in Blackest Knight looked more the right age. I think most of these characters are supposed to be roughly mid to late 30's. A bit younger for their origin stories.
Christian Bale is 36, Brandon Routh is 31 or if you prefer Tomm Welling is currently 33, Ryan Reynolds is 34.
I think that's roughly the age group they should and will be casting for both Barry and Iris. Or if they are building to a JLA.

yea like i said i think character wise the characters will probably end up being around 27-30 yrs old. But actors being looked at will probably range from 24-34 so u can play with a few yrs younger to play older, or a few yrs older playing younger.

they need to restart this poll now that Barry is back because a lotta the people who voted have a better idea of who he is I bet majority will vote Barry. This thing is so old

Maybe, but I'll still vote for Wally. I'm resigned to the fact that Barry will be the Flash in the film now and I will still enjoy it, but the question is "Your Preferred Flash For This Movie (Regardless who it ends up being officially)" and my preferred will always be Wally. Geoff Johns hasn't been that good for me lately, and I might be in the minority but I still don't care about Barry as a character.

SO we can we expect from DC/WB from Comic Con?

If I was a betting man, I'm thinking the majority of legit news will come out for Nolan's Superman and Batman 3. Probably official titles for both films, and maybe casting for Batman 3.

With The Flash and Wonder Woman, I don't think we'll get anything new besides maybe a solid release date and some tidbits from the writers (Berlanti and his team) but that's it. But the solid date would be good enough, I'd say.

well i too still hope if flash is really up next i do hope porter will have a fair shot at aleast testing for the role. Doesnt mean he ultimately will land the role. But i would like to see him given the shot. I do hope this weekend at comic con we will get any official word from johns/wb folks on where flash film does stand presently.

I think by Saturday morning, during the WB panel, we might hear something about.

Most likely, it'll be a one-on-one interview with one of the writers for a website, I hope.

I want Daniel Craig to be Zoom/Reverse Flash. Made the manip, sorry if you dont want to see fan art, but this thread needs a little more pics.

Here is an interview with Producer/Writer of the Flash, Greg Berlanti (who is a lot younger than I thought he would be). They briefly touched upon The Flash, and it sound like they BARELY started the writing process but it's nice to know it's in the works.

Berlanti is becoming a big player in WB so keep an eye out for him. If he gets the director's chair, I wouldn't mind.
