I'm scared. They haven't been handling him all that well lately. :( Hopefully they won't kill him off or anything....

Not really no. He hasn't been in Legacy at all. :( He's only in Forever and there he's been so vanilla if he's even used at all. :waa:

The dude's been banished... And honestly I'm not that upset about it. He's so mis-used when he does come up that it's a crime.

That, and I think the X-books are in an absolutely horrid state right now (just my opinion). Some of the recent X-plots make me wonder how current readers could ever hate on the 90s stuff so much...

And Gambit really just doesn't "fit" into the X-Verse anymore. If he were popular enough to move into a mix-matched team somewhere else in the Marvel U it'd be great, but he hasn't had that kind of universal staying power since 95-96 or so.

At least I'm not the only one bored with the current titles. I really only like X-Factor and X-Force when it's not involved in some crossover like Necrosha. :( Something needs to change or I need to start dropping books...

That's what i did. I haven't read any X-Men comics in almost 2 years. :o

Some possible good Gambit news! Just saw the solicitations for June, and there's Death Gambit, front and center, being written by (drum roll!) Chris Yost in the X Men: Hellbound series

http://www.comicbookresources.com/?page=article&id=25338

Sounds interesting-curious to see how Yost writes him.

Well solicits and covers are often misleading... and I hope that one is too.

Because if it's not, it would seem as if Cannonball's team is duking it out with Death-Gambit?

While seeing Gambit again would be nice, I have no interest in seeing them turn him back into the awful thing that Milligan created in the BOA arc... Gambit fighting with his dual personas (while annoying and contrived) is passable. Gambit just becoming an over the top villain and inevitably getting roughed up by an X-Team isn't something I have much interest in reading.

Even in the early days, Gambit was never "evil." He was always kind of gray.

Have to see how it plays out, I suppose. Wish for once I could have some confidence in the character's direction. Haven't felt that in about a decade and a half. :woot:

Crap. I didn't order the #1 of this because well, I could give a crap about Magick. Now I'll have to grab it. :(

X-MEN: HELLBOUND #2 (of 3)
Written by CHRIS YOST
Penciled by HARVEY TOLIBAO
Cover by MARKO DJURDJEVIC
SECOND COMING Tie-In!
It’s the X-Men vs. DEATH—literally! With Bastion and his forces cutting through their teammates back on Earth, Cannonball and his team of X-Men know that they need to complete their mission and get back to the front fast. But that’s easier said than done; a trip to Hell never quite goes as planned. With Magik still nowhere in sight, the X-Men’s mission to retrieve her only becomes more complicated when one of their own is corrupted by Limbo’s influence.

I'm interested in Chris Yost's take on Gambit-don't think he's written him before. It could go either way-could be awesome, could be "oh no, Death Gambit fighting X Men again, bla, bla, bla". I don't have anything against Death Gambit, though never a fan of the idea, could be cool if handled well. But I have no expectatations. As said earlier, solicts and covers are very misleading...

Can anyone post the pages Gambit appears in the last issue of Legacy? Heard Rogue inadvertantly "broadcasted" some Gambit porn.

My fear is that is that it very much will just be Death Gambit duking it out with the X-Men, losing and then probably getting killed by X-23 or some crap.

That's basically every Yost storyline ever. Bad guy shows up, kills some people, X-23 stabs bad guy back.

These are the Legacy pages you requested. Rogue comes to Gambit because she hears him thinking about her, some of it in French. I miss the good ole days when they gave us translations, but he was thinking something to the tune of, "I don't want to bother her, she'll come to me in the end.." Basically just him still mooning over her. This is what followed.

Then she leaves and does some other stuff with the students and afterwards she comes back and this is the last page with Gambit.

Thanks Squeeks! You're the best!

I think it's funny that Gambit isn't bothered by her "broadcast" at all!

haha thats great, at least we know who she still has the hots for!

One thing Gambit has never been is bashful...

That said, I'm really tired of Gambit just sitting on a bunch of rocks and not doing anything while countless battles are being waged around the X-Verse. He's just sitting there waiting to become Death and start beating people up.

Though if he's just going to go stone Gargoyle on us, maybe it's better if they just let Death take over. At least then I can stop caring.

There better be some sweet ass retribution coming our way. Like Gambit kickin Death Gambit's ass in a mental astral plane somewhere.

"Look what yah did to mes cheveaux, poutain!"

Those Legacy pages aren't that bad. Gambit seems more level headed and he's always gonna care for Rogue. It's obvious Rogue still wants him if she mental projected him and her doing the nasty. But what's the reason they can't be together this time? I don't really want to them to be a couple again but i think at this point point they should be a steady couple or not bother anymore. No more "i want you but i can't be with you right now "crap.

And i agree with Iamlegend. Gambit needs some action!!! The guy is a debonair womanizing gambling Cajun thief with the ability to blow stuff up. I wanna see more of that.

Yeah well, I just hope the upcoming action even doesn't include the demise of our dear Cajun. :( Yost scares me.

I really do not think you have to worry about Gambit's Demise. Carey answered a question on his facebook about gambit and pretty much stated he was going to live.

Joe Smith Hey Mike, i know that Gambits going to be in Second Coming Hellbound, but i was wondering if you were planning on using him in Legacy? Because no one else is.

Mike Carey
Hi Joe. Keep your eyes on the solicits. Gambit is about to pop up in an unexpected context.

Eh, that could mean a great many things - Gambit's evil in the solicit, Gambit's dead in the solicit, Gambit's being written out in the solicit...

And of course, we never know when exactly the X-Books are taking place anymore. Whenever they start pumping out all these secondary lines like Second Coming the continuity timeline gets really screwy.

I know I seem negative, but it's hard not to be, seeing as how Carey has made a million similar comments about Gambit and NEVER delivered anything worthwhile.

*is happy again* :D

I'd very much doubt it. They're not going to kill someone like him off in a mini that's like an extra tie-in that doesn't seem to have too much to do with the event itself. Yost does have his problem with killing characters in X-Force and New X-Men, but when he's writing solo, he seems much more tame.
