Yeah my bet is Gambits had one huge dry spell since he's met Rogue. (whilst she gets busy with the man who has the power of 1 million exlopding suns).

Also i don't know if you guys have seen the previews yet but (spoiler) it looks like Gambit is in the next issue of X-23

I just saw the preview over at Marvel, and I am so glad I am not the only one who thought that! I was like, ok, this looks interesting, poor X-23, nice firemen, then suddenly, "noooo, it can't be! Maybe it's just the glow from the fire...No dammit, his eyes ARE red, and man, he does looks hot (no pun intended)! MUST BE GAMBIT!"

Gambit is the 'sex-obsessed loner' affixed with heaps of trust, and guilt issues. In his 2005-ish solo run - he tactically seduced women in New Orleans, yet still pined for Rogue's heart while doing so. Gambit is the most intriguing character, yet to be realized by a capable writer. The potential is there.

Can you hook up a link? I'm having difficulty finding what you're referencing.

Ehh the 2004-2005 Gambit run was pretty sketchy though (and not coincidentally, printing right around the time the character took a huge nose dive in the X-Office). The earlier runs were much, much better.

Opps, sorry, here you go

C'est Gambit, non??????

I just miss the good ol' days where Gambit wasn't a bad guy and wasn't really a goody-do-gooder, if you know what I mean. He was the bad boy with some good and honest traits. But being a thief he was definitely on the wrong side of the track. *sighs*

I can't be arsed finding the link (x-position) but Rick Remender recently was hinting that Gambit may show up in Uncanny X-force after the first arc. Good news?

Here.

All he says is that Gambit's not in the initial arc, but that he has a "natural connection" to later stories. So that could mean a great many things.

I've seen that one before. It's just amazing! :D Makes you wish he still drew for whatever X team Gambit is on now. :)

I saw some pictures somewhere of Jim Lee's original designs for Gambit. I think he's probably the last big, new X-Man. I can't think of one new person that's really impacted the X-books like that guy has.

It would be great new to me, indeed. It also makes sense what with him being half Death and all...

Yep that's why i wrote "may"

Yeah i think it would be good to Gambit to branch out too, he seems to be making alot of apearences in the coming few months

He just doesn't fit in with most of the X-Verse right now (nor has he, in a long time)... so the only real option (short of a writer really taking Gambit into his care and reintroducing him) is to let him out of the standard rank and file X-teams he seems to float around.

I don't think that's neccesary he's a well established character who is coming into prominance again.

But he just doesn't fit with the core X-Team anymore... they're way too busy doing... well, nothing. Long story short, I just think most of the X-Books are an absolute trainwreck right now and would much prefer Gambit to get more use throughout Marvel and in smaller books rather than be wedged into what's already a huge mess.

Yeah i know what you mean, i would especially not want him to appear in Uncanny, even though it would get him exposure, because i feel he would be very badly characterised, (Like most others in that book)

I also want him out of Legacy because i think he gets destroyed (character wise) whenever he appears, to make Rogue look better

Oh yeah, he was effectively Rogue's lapdog anytime Carey had him in Legacy. I'm sure that whenever Carey finally deals with the "Death" subplot that he refuses to let anyone else touch that he'll somehow tie Rogue being amazing into the resolution.

I'm hoping for the best in his (apparently) upcoming non-major title appearances (the X-23 book we've discussed here, and potentially a one-time appearance in the new Heroes for Hire).

If someone would write him correctly for a little while people would realize why he was such a popular character in his prime...

Other then Legacy he's going to be a major character in the next "X-men" arc which i think/hope is going to better then the vamp one.

Also didn't Axel Alonso say that Gambit is going to be involved in a major way in the next X-men event, any news on that yet?

It would be nice, but I ain't holdin' my breath.:p

This. The last time he was hyped before an event it was Messiah Complex. And all he did was mope about Rogue and play second fiddle to Mystique. Still bitter that they had her kill Sinister and never let Gambit get a final showdown with him (even though the two characters had been tied together for a decade and a half).

Now you mention it, i think the event that Gambit is involved in is "Age of X", which is something about the time of Age of Apocalypse, which sucks as i guess it isn't taking place in the main universe :(

Also "Assistant Editor Daniel Ketchum was called on stage from the audience to discuss any potential future stories for Gambit. He and Carey agreed that fans of the Rogue/Gambit relationship will be happy with future issues of "Legacy" which will bring another character into the proceedings who will throw a wrench into those characters ongoing romance"

What ongoing romance?

Gambit hasn't even been in the book for almost a year.

Said differently on another site "Besides X-23, are we going to see any other appearances from Gambit? In a case of fortunate timing, Ketchum joined the panel: "X-Men Legacy features Rogue. It also features Magneto. I think it's no secret that we kind of love romantic tension in the X-Men books. It's possible someone might show up to complicate Rogue and Magneto's relationship a little bit."

Mags/Gambit/Rogue love triangle :(

Yep, that sounds about right. They'll just throw Gambit in there to pine over Rogue, who'll be made to look like this ridiculously desirable woman that warrants the attention because she's so amazing.

Ugh. Well, at least we know, that way I can stop hoping that someone will get it right. The X-Office sucks. I'm really, really close to just ditching X-Books from top to bottom and not looking back.

And real quick... We DID a Rogue/Magneto/Gambit triangle! Granted it was a clone named Joseph, but it was the same crap! And it sucked! The only good thing to come out of it was this line...

So why's everybody callin' him "Joseph"? What is dat all about? Maybe I should just start callin' myself somethin' different. James. "Gambit"? No, I'm James.

I'm with you dude, all of the x-men comics seem to have the exact same team, Cyclops, Wolverine and Emma Frost. New Astonishing X-men-2nd "x-men arc" and Uncanny.

I also am thinking of ditching the majority of the x books, i want to read about different characters not three of the same ones and add a couple of randoms like armor or Namor.

I'll try out Legacy when Gambit appears again, but i'm probs gonna drop the above titles.

Finding out the core team for the second arc of Adjectiveless X-men was Cyclops, Wolverine, Emma Frost and Storm was the final straw for me considering Gambit was teased so much.
