He hasn't manifested that ability since Sinister reverted him back. So far it looks as though he can absorb people's souls into cards or some such. A bit more dignified talent if you ask me. :p

August looks promising. :D

X-MEN: CURSE OF THE MUTANTS - STORM & GAMBIT #1
Written by CHUCK KIM
Penciled by TBD
Cover by MICO SUAYAN
As an army of vampires descends on San Francisco, the X-Men find themselves in dire straights. The good news is that they may have just discovered a means for stemming the invasion. The bad news? What they need is in the clutches of the vampires themselves. Luckily, the X-Men have two thieves in their employ that may just be able pull off such a heist. Hold on to your wooden stakes, X-Fans…STORM and GAMBIT are in for a bumpy ride!
40 PGS./One-Shot/Parental Advisory …$3.99

I saw that yesterday-happy happy joy joy! Finally, those two will be sharing panel space again! Hopefully, Gambit will be teaming up with Blade again sometime in that arc.

A bit crappy cover art though...What happened to Gambit's eyes????

Proper prior planning prevents poor performance. :p Somebody needs to do their homework.

So i picked up Hellbound yesterday and i gotta say i was pleasantly surprised. Finally they focused on Gambit being Gambit. No Rogue :woot: I also liked that Cannonball said he needs someone who can keep their eyes on the prize no matter what. This gives me hope that the writer understands Gambit's personality. The Death Gambit bit didn't bother me. It seems like he wasn't struggeling with it which is good. I think Gambit is the kinda character that wouldn't have too much trouble with using a dark, evil power if that's what it takes to get the job done.

Also Gambit + Storm +thieving = da awesomenezzz:awesome:

I just wished they would have showed Remy's "Oh crap" moment when Death just popped out and took him over. One minute Remy was there, the next he was Death like Remy wouldn't have fought the transition. I think he would have kicked up a fuss myself. I don't think he likes the lack of control over his own mind. :(

Maybe he can control it and he turned into Death on purpose.

In the past couple of scenes where it happened, he definatly wasn't in control of it, nor was he happy about it. :(

August looks promising. :D

the X-office is pairing Gambit and Storm again? In a plot that makes sense?

Something drastic must have happened. This makes too much sense.

That said, ecstatic to see him getting a comeback in stories that actually fit he character.

LOL, I am so looking forward to it. I love the two of them in action. :D

Looking forward to seeing more Gambit, but I don't like the art on that cover. Especially Gambit. The faces are all ugh.

Well it's a different name on the penciler, so the inside art should be different. :)

Shure. When I watch Taylor in action, when I write my version of cool Gambit in my fanfic, when I read the old comics. I am not always bummed out. :p I am hopeful about the upcoming X-men book with all the vampires. Can't wait to see what they do with Gambit in that. :)

maybe one will bite him and suck the death outta him

LOL, maybe. :p It would be no less plausible than him becoming Death in the first place.

Gambit in issue two of the Hellbound mini:

Not quite sure where this is going. I can't say if he killed Northstar and Dazzler or just.. changed .. them somehow...

Makes ya wonder, does he have her soul now or what? I could care less about Dazzler, but Northstar I like. I don't want him to be all the way dead after this. :(

Im sure it'll be resolved soon enough... We know good old Remy Lebeau comes out of this somehow, if he and Storm will be doing a team up in late summer/early fall.

Hopefully this ends with Gambit fighting back and completely purging Death from his system.

That said, the writing on Death here is so much better than Milligan did in the few panels he used the character in after the initial turn.

Yeah, no green gas clouds in sight. :p I do like how they have incorporated the cards into the madness, which only makes sense given who Gambit is. Too bad Milligan couldn't have been as creative on his run...

Wow, Hellbound seems to really be heading into interesting territory. I am glad my faith in Yost has been reaffirmed-this is the most bad-*ssed Remy's been for ages! Looking forward to picking this up when I am back in the States at the end of the month!

FYI the "Death" persona things isn't going anywhere soon-Carey has said that it will be addressed in a later story arc in Legacy.
