The Official Green Lantern Review Thread

I remember Transformers: ROTF had a super tight embargo. I remember waiting in line for the movie at the midnight premiere still not having reviews. Then, about 3 hours before the movie, people said the reviews on RT were awful. There was nothing we could really do...
:funny: Oh man.

Green Lantern is hilarious. Its the first film to get bad word of mouth, before it has word of mouth.

Fudge, and it is the first official non-tweet review.
But this person is obviously biased as they make clear right off the bat that they are still waiting for Hollywood to make a good superhero movie, implying there haven't been any.

Plus the whole thing is three paragraphs long and could have been put together by someone who has only seen the trailers and spots.

I call b.s. on it.

Because it's negative? People put to much importance on reviews but that's as official as it gets.

Did you bother reading it?
What part of that "review" could you not have put together from watching the trailers and t.v. spots, don't be a tool.
Hah, I replied and reviewed the thing myself.

There are countless reviews like this one were you can barely tell if they watched it. Stop being defensive.

Robbie Collin from NOTW tweeted that he's seen it and his review will be up tomorrow. There WAS a british screening today.

I'm being logical and not completely gullible.
I am not expecting this movie to do so well with the critics but I won't reduce myself to believing anything posing as a review when it is quite easy to deduce that this person is talking out of their ass.

:ikyn

Funny how they say it's from Keith Ulich, who's a blogger with TimeOut, New York and Indiewire.com, but yet, neither site has his review up. Ulich is also a RottenTomato critic and they don't have his review up either. The review also seems like the reviewer did't see the film. Every thing he described wasn't any more than what we saw in the trailers.
Well, it's on TimeOut and RT won't have it before it's up on the official sites.
On the American sites there's still the embargo.
And this is a professional reviewer, not the kind of person who make things up based on trailers.

Take some solace in the fact this same reviewer gave XFC 2/5.

KeithUhLichAnus - Don't be ridiculous. Keith Uhlich is a NY-based TO critic who saw the film last week. We only review films from complete, finished versions.

:lmao:

Don't know if this will matter now but apple.com's showtimes section has Lantern listed at 114 minutes...the same length as Thor.

I'm reading on Twitter that people are suss to the fact there are TV Spots with critic quotes with no reviews to back up the quotes. I'm starting to get a bad feeling about this.

Acknowledging that there are other ******s who pull reviews from their asses from what they've seen in trailers does not make this a real review, it rather highlights that there are a lot of phonies out there.

Really guys, come on, read this review... There is absolutely nothing there anyone of us couldn't of put together, even in very short reviews there is usually more dept and reasoning and tell-tell signs that the movie has been seen.

So what? He didn't like the movie. We'll wait for someone who did. The blurbs of the "critics" spot were taken from Tweets.

Negative doesn't equal making up.

I'll wait for an actual review.
I mean if the next review is something like that except positive I won't be a hypocrite and praise the drivel.
Bah, it comes out in 3 days. BWAHAHAHAHA!

You guys seem intent on believing I'm tripping balls over this because it is negative, implying I wouldn't be if it wasn't.

You're wrong.

This is a non-entity in the realm of reviews, it is utterly vacuous.
