Interesting choice. At first I thought he was Edward Snowden lol
I am offended.

Flick... That never would have occurred to me and... I can see it now to an extent. Jaimie is dashing, heroic in his own way, full of himself... Yeah he probably could pull Hal off. Also there is a playfulness with Hal that he doesn't get to show too often on THRONES tha when you see him in interviews I think he could do as well. GoT will be over by the time GLC gets underway and there is a good chance he could deliver some of that audience to the movie.
Yeah, if you asked me which GoT actor I could imagine carrying a superhero film...it would not have been Jason Momoa, lol. Nikolaj's a great actor who has carried many different types of films over his career...just none of them Hollywood blockbusters. But if we can forgive Momoa for Conan, surely we can overlook Gods of Egypt. He's a bit old for most CBM roles now, but if they want an older veteran Hal, he'd be great, imo.

You need charisma for superhero roles. And charisma and talent sadly don't always mean the same thing.

Hal needs to be charismatic, so they need a charismatic actor. Maybe not necessarily ultra-talented because in my opinion it doesn't take a Daniel Day-Lewis level of talent to pull off a character like Hal Jordan. Hal needs to be a likeable guy, someone magnetic that the audience is instantly attracted to, whether he's a young guy in his prime or a seasoned veteran.

A lot of that is also in the writing regardless of the actor's charisma. Though, as I always point out about Hal, you can and maybe should write him with off putting aspects due to the whole "honest" and "fearless" thing. I mean... An honest and fearless man might tell his girlfriend that yes, those jeans do make her look fat... That guy would be considered an A grade asshat by his soon to be ex-girlfriend though as well as many outside observers.

Still though getting the audience on the side of your protagonist is as much what the script has them do and say as much as as what ever aspects the performers bring to the table.

NCW is plenty charismatic to me. He's one of the most popular characters on GoT, and when you consider how little relative screentime he's actually had and how even less of that screentime was spent being a remotely decent person and yet he still has people rooting for him, that popularity's largely coming from the actor's charisma, imo.

The Rock also has charisma, a **** ton of it, lol. He's a decent actor, but not the best. But people will go see anything he's in, Baywatch notwithstanding.

Tyrese like it or not he actually has charisma as John Stewart but also he has a sense of humor especially checking him out in the Fast and the Furious franchise but also Tyrese can do well in fight scenes in action scenes especially in the Transformers franchise or even the Fast franchise

But for Hal I would go with Joel Edgerton

LOL, yeah. I blame Alex Proyas for Turds of Egypt more than any of the actors. Well, I guess I blame Gerard Butler too, but that's just because if I had it my way, he'd never be in a movie again.

As for Nicholaj... it's a long shot but if they ever decided to adapt that Castlevania animated series to live action, he'd make a KILLER Trevor Belmont.

It's too bad Chris Pine played Steve Trevor. He would've been far better as Hal Jordan.

I know right but then it begs the question of who could play Hal now

He was great as Steve, so I don't really see how Pine as Hal would've been far better, other than, you know.... [blackout]him surviving[/blackout].

Yeah I imagine his Hal would've been almost identical to his Steve.

My thing is that his Steve Trevor just seemed like a more modern Hal Jordan than a World War I veteran. That was just the impression the character gave off IMHo.

I concur. Pine might have been an excellent Hal.

I still think the best for Jon Stewart would be the lead guy on American Gods or the lead guy from Moonlight. Both are rising stars and easily look late 20's/early 30's and are like kinda tall.

Yeah, I agree as well. Both good choices. Honestly, if it were my choice at this point, the only Green Lantern in the movies would be John Stewart. Just start fresh with a new character.

Eh, you could say "just go with Miles Morales" after the Amazing Spider-Man movies and Spider-Man 3 ruined Peter Parker. But Marvel knew they could revitalize the character and they did it. I think there's still hope for Hal. You just need the right actor, director and screenwriter.

Those are not traits I think of as associated with John. He's more of a hard nosed marine type. He's not devoid of charisma, but not exactly a joker.

Then in that case I would have suggested Michael Jai White if he were like years younger or even Chadwick Boseman if he weren't playing Black Panther but I would go with Michael Ealy as John Stewart then or even Mike Colter yeah sure he may be playing Luke Cage now in the MCU but that is Netflix not the actual big screen

Actually the guy from Moonlight Mahershala Ali as John Stewart now that would be a coup for DC especially because the man is an Academy Award winner and not to mention he can definitely act especially if you have seen Moonlight but also comics wise he even looks like John so I think he could pull it off...DC if they were smart they would snag him up

That would be a perfect fit, but he's entering his second project with Marvel. I've noticed that there's usually a gap of a few years when actors have had roles for both DC and Marvel based films/TV. I don't know if that's coincidence or there's some kind of "no compete" clause in their contracts.

Sony. But just as a voice for the animated Spider-Man movie.
