I can't speak on behalf of the person who decided on the verbiage for the poll since it wasn't me; but I'm sure it wasn't meant to be really scrutinized. It is, after all, the first official one to date.

Besides that, the logo they end up using for merchandise and such doesn't really bother me as long as it has a close resemblance to the comic version. How many different Batman logos have been used throughout the years?

As long as the logo on the GL suits look good and the ring looks something like this I'll be a happy man

Yeah, I see what you mean about the poll and logo, I meant no offense by it.

I would hope the logo atleast resembles the classic shape, and is green, but whether its really shiny metal look, or a more plastic "Superman returns" like molding its made of makes no difference to me. I'm just hoping they're gonna give Hal white gloves! :woot:

Oh, none taken. I think we're all just hoping they nail this film. It's the first live-action DC mainstream superhero film that doesn't revolve around Supes or Bats. If GL doesn't fair well critically or financially there's no hope for Flash or WW.

You're not the only one hoping for the classic gloves. They are iconic for ceremonial dress uniforms and make a huge visual difference.

Yeah, it actually kind of makes me nervous thinking how much is riding on it being a great flick.

I was imagining the other day about, if the movie is a hit, how much mass-marketing they'll be for the film: Video Games, Action Figures, Posters, Rings, Old Green Lantern Comics put in a new trade form, ect.! It's gotten me really excited for the movie!

Definitely! Hal Jordan has always been my fave DC superhero (followed by Dr. Fate and Alan Scott). I'll be sure to spend several paychecks on every bit of merchandise that comes out for this flick; even kiddie birthday plates and napkins

So will I, even though I probably can't afford it all! :hehe:

Just got an update:
Green Lantern filming at T-Rivers Bar (Madisonville, LA across Lake Ponchartrain from New Orleans.) The Bar is only open on Friday and Sat for regular business. (Heard from a reliable source.

(Thanks John!!)
Working on a new post, confirming date for this info now!

Sorry for the oversize pics. my first time on this message board.
BTW, I used to be a big comic fan when I was young and suscribed to
the GL/GA comic. I swear there was an issue where the two went camping and GA added mushrooms to the chili they were cooking. Said it was his secret ingredient. Unfortunately the mushrooms were bad and they both went on a bad "trip", with Hals ring malfunctioning on him. Can anyone tell me which issue this was?
Thanks!

That wasn't in a Green Lantern comic. That was in The Flash, volume 1, #226 (April 1974). Green Lantern had stopped printing at that time and was a filler story in The Flash. The story was titled "The Powerless Power Ring".

Actually, the CBM poll was created later in the day. This is the original article I posted with doyle's photos:

It may not be the final logo used for the film, but it is the first official one we've seen.

The bad thing about that poll is that it is set up so that people can vote multiple times, which would produce skewed results. In addition, only people who cared would even go to vote there. It would have been better to just interview people (say like via email or through a focus group) and got their opinion from their response. I am sure that this was done already through the projects marketing wing and we will see what the logo will finally look like (hopefully by ComiCon).

T-Rivers is kinda weird of a location, unless theyre using it because of its location right next the river. otherwise, it's a biker bar in the middle of no where.

cool location i wonder if its for exterior shots or interior shots? also yea i so cant wait to we get a close up look at the Ring. As for costume totally cant wait to see how it will turn out.

BTW, thanks for the Twitter nod there Octoberist. I guess you never know who's watching.

i'm pretty sure its' the girl that he's gonna sleep with. it kinda makes sense IF that set pictured is his loft.

BTW, I have a feeling that bluegreen will feature the actual coast/beach, since the town is called Coast City, you gotta have some of that in there.

yea totally i still think they will probably end up taking plate shots of some other city say miami or some other coastal city to be dubbed in with green screen/exterior shots to be coast city.

I'm thinking she's Jenna. Unless that's not in the script anymore.

Jenna was the girl that Hal slept with.

BTW, Marcela's name in the movie is.."Beautiful Girl". According to her blog.

probably a cover on real name, or is unlucky to not be named.

Yeah, I think she is playing that yoga instructor named Jenna. I guess the big mother****in boyfriend is in it. I'm down with that. That scene was pretty funny. Reading it recently, I could totally see Reynolds saying all those lines.

"He's here? Now??"
