The Official Green Lantern Set Pic Thread

Hector Hammond looks sick! Absolutely love it... that'll look so ****ing creepy on screen. lol. And the mocap suit is really cool too... leave it to only Ryan Reynolds to make something like that look good lmao... if I saw anybody else in that I would be laughing my ass off.

...Not to mention that weird dog following you around all the time.
That puppy is so adorable.
Apperantly that's Blake Lively's puppy running around the set.:oldrazz:

Its gotta be hard, as an actor, to be heroic while wearing that.

According to Billy Crudup, it is. He looked (and felt) ridiculous in the Doctor Manhattan motion-capture neon suit.

Didn't he say he got to tease out the other guys because their suits were really uncomfortable or something?

^ I heard from somewhere that he actually only had to wear the suit some of the times and that a lot of the times he actually filmed the scenes nude and had been painted on his body. I forget where I heard that from.

I had a feeling a few weeks ago a photo was going to pop up sooner or later of ryan in the motion cap suit. I was wondering how they were going to go about it. Being we know the suit in the film will be a full on cgi creation. So its still neat to see how things are going to be shot from the behind the scenes perspective and all that. Cant wait to we see the real deal of the costume.

sometimes my 'sarcasm' sense doesn't tingle...but this is one of the rare times when it's actually working.

Those photos just prove that (fullbody) motion capture/performance capture technology is the same for both ILM and Imageworks. People may criticize their quality, but it is all the same. In addition, there were the comments about how costly it would be. The truth of the matter is that it is actually cheaper doing it this way since you can produce results often in real time which serves to reduce production and animation costs.

well nice to see another shot of ryan in the motion cap suit. Also yea it looks pretty close to the ilm one. So hopefully the sony folks will be on their a game.

dnno1 its not the same.

the markers on the suit are the same. Sony obvious saw in the behind the scenes for POTC2 what kind of suits they used and they realized that its better .and they were on the siggraph presentation

the software for calculating is still different becausue its custom software developed by ILM.

and i was writting how costly it was going to be. never did i say that its costs millions to motion capture a human body in 2010. i would have to be the dumbest idiot to writte it. and i didnt.

it will cost millions to RENDER. read it again mr dnno1. it will cost a lot of money to render a realistic CGI suit that matches the enviorment and lighting and bounce light.

real time? i never saw or read ILM previewing a realtime motion captured body on an live action set with the imo-cap technology. i guess you did?

Meh, as Tom Sizemores' characters says in TRUE ROMANCE to Bronson Pinchots character in the film towards the end:

"YOUR AN ACTOR MUTHA F***ER, NOW ACT!" :hehe:

i liked it when Bronson Pichot's character misheard someone on the phone and asked him "Wait, did me...do s*ck his d*ck"? it's hilarity.

That Hector Hammond photo made me want to curl up into a fetal position. I can't wait to see it on the big screen.

Is that motorcycle pic of Reynolds apart of the film?
