My point was that J'onn wasn't an underappreciated hero. He had a pretty big presence in the Justice League comics and among the DC characters in general. The New Frontier, which idealizes the Silver Age, features J'onn heavily. He was a major character--maybe not to the general public, but at least to comic readers.

Yeah I don't know anyone who doesn't like J'onn. Clearly we're seeing a case of dementia brought on by tragic choco deprivation.

He'd rather just go RRRRRRRRRRRRR HSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS THISSSSSSSSSSSSSS CCMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR

And make the readers spend 5 minutes trying to decipher what he's saying. Which is fine with me.

I'd rather if he just didn't try to talk at all. Just keep punching people's heads in

I don't get why people love Arkillo so much, personally. He's the anti-Kilowog. All he really exists for, as far as I'm concerned, is for Kilowog to kick his ass whenever the GLC and the Sinestro Corps fight.

Either way, Monguls still going to get the beating he deserves. Hoping from Arkillo, but if not from Sinestro.

And definitely not from Yat haha

The same reason people like any tank character on a team

Ah, 'cause he breaks s***.

Come to think of it, why hasn't a red ring slapped itself on Arkillo's finger yet? Surely, after being so humiliated at Mongul's hands that he'll break a dude's head just for saying Mongul's name, he must have enough rage to qualify.

Well, the Red Lanterns (Atrocious, as he's the one who sends the rings) are the enemies of Yellow, so it stands to reason that he wouldn't want to filthy his corps with the blood of his enemies.

I mean, he did it with Hal cause of plot devices, but still.

Ah, I just read that in the Corps 101 thing, actually. About Atrocitus hating Hal and Sinestro.

Im not particularly fond of him. I just find it amusing that he wears his tongue around his neck and would find it even more amusing if he used his ring to construct a yellow tongue. :hehe:

To be fair, a lot of myliking for him came when I needed a name for a WoW character so I named him Arkillo. Played on that guy for a hard year or so. It was weird comin on this site and seeing people talk about him, as I was used to it being directed about me.

I'm particularly fond of him in the least gay way possible :o

Well, I'm not fan of the character, I would not have killed him, ... but I think he is as boring as useless. I disagree with Corpulent : I do not think there is a lot of interest about J'onn. Well, the fact that he had different series does not prove this point, IMO. It proved that editors might have thought that he could interest people, right, and in the end, not enough to have his own serie. I think Corpulent makes a valid point talking about JL: New Frontier, but ... (even if it was well handled) I thought he was interesting until the moment he began to fight for "his new home". I was bored by him more than anything.
I've always seen him as a clone of Superman, but less cooler. In the cartoon, I liked him for the first time : first, his powers were different from Superman, then he made good use of it, he was not just hitting things. But then again, the dynamic within the team was excellent, which is not the case right now in a JLA book.
Anyway, what I mean is that I do not think J'onn J'onz is a very interesting character. Maybe he has a potential, but the only utility he had, IMO, was to be a living communicator in the JL missions. And of course, G.Morrisson made him cool. But he made everyone cool at the time.
Don't flame me Corpulent, but I like and enjoy the way they are writing him in smallville. The guy is a cop (already in the comics) which is fine and exciting, and as a martian he traveled across the universe and met and saw a lot of things including kryptonians. I like that. I'm not saying it is THE way to go, but it might be A way to go. it help rejuvenite the character, I think.

Well, an anti-Kilowog is fun, IMO. And Since the last issue of GLC, he can have a pivotal place in the future of Mongul, which is, by my standards, a reason to like the character. So maybe he was the anti.Kilowog but now, his role has evolved. I do not loooove Arkillo, but I think it is cool to have a big tank in the ranks, even more if he can catch against Mongul ! I do not see him as an anti-Kilowog, that would reduce the role of Kilowog to "the tank of the GLC" and that is not true.

Then who is?

Well, there is that Lost Lantern who does nothing but punch people. Hannu. But he hardly ever appears.

Ah yes, the rock man.

Stel got his armor upgraded recently and looked pretty strong but Larfleeze effed him up :(

GL #40 preview. This is actually getting really interesting. And how Tan manages to make Fatality not look ****ty in spite of that costume, I have no idea. Apparently Tan didn't hit it off with most people last issue, but I'm pretty content with his work.

Well, he was created to be the Sinestro Corps version of Kilowog. High in rank, was the one who trained all the new recruits, and was their Big Bruiser type of frontline warrior, just like Kilowog.

Damn that's badass.

I think it has a lot to do with her expression, for me. Every time Reis draws a Sapphire it seems like she's trying to damndest to thrust something into somewhere. Tan's Sapphire actually looks loving. The floral energy designs that originated from Gleason really helps, too.
