She wondered why I kept such large knives, but by then it was too late.

GL #40 preview. This is actually getting really interesting. And how Tan manages to make Fatality not look ****ty in spite of that costume, I have no idea. Apparently Tan didn't hit it off with most people last issue, but I'm pretty content with his work.

His art looks dirty to me, too many lines. Also, star sapphires do not wear pants :cmad:

"You see? You see?! An image! A shadow...like a giant hand! There are forces at work here...forces we must understand! I must go back further...further!"

okay, so im kicking myself for not jumping onto GLC from the beginning. i never thought the two books would be so intertwined. if i were to try to jump onto GLC, whats a good issue/story arc to go back and start with? especially considering all the emotional spectrum ring crap thats been going on? also, is there a list of all the story arcs thus far?

"Ring Quest," now available wherever trades are available, is an excellent jumping-on point for GLC. The arc occurs immediately after the events of Sinestro Corps War and concerns the GL Corps' efforts to pick off the rest of the Sinestro Corps and their rings. Mongul and hilarity ensues, but mostly Mongul.

"Sins of the Star Sapphire" follows that, but the trade won't be available until June. If you can't wait that long, the arc begins in GLC #27. Well, technically issues 27 and 28 contain another, very quick arc that's not about the Star Sapphires, but is going to be connected to Blackest Night anyway so you should get it. Sins of the Star Sapphire formally begins in issue #29.

Emerald Eclipse is the current ongoing arc, which began in issue #33. Latest issue was #35.

If you want to try and get into GLC from the beginning, which I always recommend because it was a great book, start with GLC: Recharge which occurs immediately after GL: Rebirth. Next is the "To Be A Lantern" and "The Dark Side of Green" trades. And then the Sinestro Corps War, half of which took place in this series. None of these have anything to do with the emotional spectrum or Blackest Night (other the SCW issues of course), but as I said a long time ago in a [insert location] far far away: "If you are at all interested in the Green Lantern Corps as the Green Lantern Corps -- from the trials of the lowliest rookies to triumphs of the honored veterans -- you should be reading this book."

awesome, thanks!

by the way, what do you guys find to be the cheapest play to buy trades online?

So, something that's been bugging me for a while. Where the hell are the Alpha Lanterns?

You'd think that with the whole universe going to war with giant factions of colored Corps that the most powerful/effective units in the GLC (the Alpha Lanterns) would be on the front-lines, right?

Maybe they realized that the Alpha Lanterns were a dumb ass idea and have chosen to ignore them.

They seemed to be more of an Internal Affairs bureau.

:gl: :gl: :gl:

Well yeah, that's basically what was said when they were introduced, they're the IA of the corps.

But they're still statistically the most powerful members of the corps, what with having batteries inside them and all.

Technically, Sodam Yat's still the most powerful member of the Corps, isn't he? So, of course, they dispatch him to his homeworld where he loses half his power. The Guardians aren't really the best managers, it seems.

which is why, I think, the Guardians will step back from running the GLC and make Kyle or Guy the "Chief" of the police force

Seems more like a Salaak or Kilowog sort of job. As much as I love Kyle, I wouldn't want to see him stuck behind a desk running the whole Corps.

but it will be a big sweet desk with a big comfy chair and Soranik Natu will bring him tea and hot sexin'

Isn't this basically what Salaak does in the first place? I mean he's always talking to the other lanterns telling them what to do, when to come back to get the guardians secret missions and such.

Salaak is essentially a high level desk sargeant....he is tasked with making sure the GLCs resources are where they need to be....like J'onn or Mr. Terrific in JLU

They didn't dispatch him. ********s went on his own, with Arisia tagging along, and to date no one else actually knows that they're there.
