Yeah, it's gonna suck for Larfleeze when he realizes the only way for him to beat Black Lanterns is to team up with a Green Lantern. :)

All you need is Love! :ST:

That's the closest I could find to a hippy symbol.
You couldn't find a peace sign?

Larfleeze seems like he'd work best as a comedy character anyway. His greed is pretty cartoonish as it is.

Reminds me of Daffy Duck. especially in that one cartoon where he and Bugs end up in a cave and find a genie. Hassan chop!

Personally I do not like this approach. I like it a bit, all right, it is funny, but it seems pretty inconsistent and fake compared to the greedy ugly creature of the Agent Orange arc.

Anyway the issue was great and I did not see coming the scene with Atrocitus, in front of my eyes since the beginning, but I did not see that coming. I like Atrocitus pretty much and I enjoyed seeing him move his ass. Same with Hal Jordan by the way. It was nice to see him react a bit instead of following like a robot.
The thing I prefer the most is the bizarre team they are going to do in order to fight the Black corps. I was waiting to see this imossible team to form since I first saw Atrocitus. Can not wait for it.
Great issue anyway.

I just want the next issue to come so we can get that resolution on the Larfleeze/Atrocious meeting.

Johns said in an interview a long time ago that when Larfleeze and Atrocious meet they're both a bit baffled by the others actions and corps.

Awesome Red Lantern action in today's GLC, next month looks pretty RLC heavy too

And um....about [blackout]Kyle dying[/blackout]. This will not stand

ya... im gonna ride out BN and if he stays that way... bye bye DC comics for me... which means bye bye almost ALL comics for me :(

I won't boycott but I will be rather unhappy. I love all the GL's but Kyle is my favorite. The only upside that I could possibly see is maybe that they will focus on John some more but considering how much DC "loves" him I doubt that highly. Sad state of affairs I must say.

As much fun as I had reading Blackest Night #5 (and I had a lot of fun with that), I actually think I might have enjoyed Green Lantern #48 a little bit more.

Okay, when you boil it down, this was essentally just 22 pages of the 7 Corps representatives (along with Ganthet and Sayd) talking. But amidst the breakneck pace and non-stop action we've been seeing over the past few months, this change of pace is precisely what was needed. We get to see these characters all play off each other, with varied dynamics at play and a network of relationships and rivalries developed.

Geoff Johns excels in this issue at giving each character their own distinctive voice. I was particularly happy with the progression of Atrocitus, who I feel was somewhat underdeveloped until now. Between the badassery of last issue and the glimpses of gentler emotion shown here, his characterisation is no longer a problem for me. Mahnke, meanwhile, continues to fire on all cylinders with his crisp, efficient style. Following Reis was always going to be a tough task, but already Mahnke has put his own visual stamp on the book.

I've enjoyed this recent batch of Green Lantern issues, chronicling the gathering of the 7 Corps representatives in a universe-hopping adventure running parallel to the main plot of Blackest Night. But with this issue, the two narrative strands have been brought together. I'll be interested to see how Green Lantern operates alongside Blackest Night from here on in.

Red rain falls!

As the Black Lanterns continue their reign of terror and chaos on Oa, things go from bad to worse when a horrible loss for the Green Lantern Corps results in Guy Gardner becoming so enraged that he becomes a Red Lantern! And hell breaks loose as the Central Power Battery faces an attack from the newly arrived Black Lantern Corphans!

Thanks for the kind words on GL #49 - yes, John Stewart IS a bad ass. Can't wait to see his scene in BN #8 play out and...in the storyline post-Blackest Night in Green Lantern: NEW GUARDIANS.

Inbefore Kyle Rayner fans will cry how his tweet doesn't say anything about Kyle! :awesome: I'm guessing all the major players (Kilowogg, Kyle, John, Gardner? Hal) take incharge and become more active Guardians than what the "Guardians" ever used to be. Perhaps Ganthet unites the Blue and Green lanterns?

If that happened, I could see the Blue Lanterns replacing the Alpha Lanterns as counselors rather than Internal Affairs.

I really hope Saint Walker makes it through this whole affair he is by far one of my favorite characters in comic books.

Yeah, I like him. I hope Larfleeze survives, too. He's way too entertaining to be abandoned. :hehe:

Larfleeze is confirmed to survive. We get to see him how he hangs around earth with his greed and stuff. :D Also Geoff has been joking on twitter how many GL villains have a moustache. So now he's joking about Atrocitus and Larfleeze getting evil-mastermind moustaches too. :awesome: Ah the comedy!

Of the new Lanterns, I really want Saint Walker, Larfleeze, Miri, and Kryb to survive. Everyone else (other than Green Lanterns) can die.

Atrocitus is very questionable. If he finally gets his revenge what is he gonna do? Keep raging? Stop raging? What does make me worried with all these new characters out there. They might get into a comic-limbo sooner or later where someday they will either get killed off or finally moved on with the story after doing nothing for ages.

Well, rage isn't the kind of emotion you can sustain for too long, so I figured it was a foregone conclusion that the Red Lanterns would go away eventually.

Let's have a Larfleeze day where he appears on the cover of every DC book published that week! :awesome:

I dunno about "go away" unless you mean go back to the sector they started from and agree to stay there (until a later storyline dictates that the come out... raging :cwink:)
