I enjoyed the movie. Definitely not for everyone. It's for not just cinema fans, but a particular kind of cinema fan...those with a sick sense of humor....so yeah I liked it.

I loved Death Proof.
I wanna watch it again, but then I'd have to sit through Planet Horror, which was alright, but Death Proof was amazing.
I hope I see Zoe Bell in other stuff...I mean as an actress, not as a stunt woman

Planet Terror is the sickest, craziest movie I have ever seen! I can't wait to see it again!

I've yet to of had the pleasure of seeing the film yet, what's Planet Terror like in comparison to Dusk Till Dawn?

Grindhouse took me back to my days as a pre-teen and t.v networks were not afraid to air B flicks like Massacre at Central High, and Survival Run in the afternoons.Hell you can barely find them on video today.
Planet Terror the best of the double feature,is so over the top and gory you cant help but smile.Scattered with colorful characters and bad one liners and action set pieces that make characters go beyond what a human being can actually do.The standouts in this feature Rose McGowan ,Freddy Rodríguez ,Josh Brolin,Marley Shelton,Jeff Fahey and Michael Biehn I also loved the missing reel moments.Especially right before one MR moment when the camera dwells on Mcgowan's well toned booty.Oh and how could i forget Stacy Ferguson(looking super busty!!)

The trailers Machete,Thanksgiving, and Dont !! were friggin hilarious !!!

I read a few reviews that stated Death Proof was the more "talky" of the 2 features. But hey its Tarantino,it couldnt be that bad right?? Boy was i wrong.Yes Sydney Tamiia Poitier and Vanessa Ferlito were fun to look at but their prolonged banter just made me sleepy.I've had more fun watching women rant and rave on the Oxygen network than this!!
Thankfully things get livelier when Kurt Russel arrives on screen and sizes up Mcgowan and Ferlito. When the action hits it hits like a cannonball. Zoe Bell is the stand out in this and is a natural on screen, and Russell really has a good time with his role.

As a whole Grindhouse is a 9 Planet Terror 10/10
The Trailers 10/10 Death Proof 7 1/2

Grindhouse revisited??

With the (seemingly) much-anticipated double feature GRINDHOUSE having a case of box office erectile dysfunction, Hollywood insiders and online journalists immediately speculated on the causes quicker than Tarantino can deliver a complete sentence. It's too long! Too violent! Too self-indulgent! Too hyped! Released on the wrong weekend! Audiences didn't "get" it! Milk Duds pull out my fillings! And so on.

Now comes the wicked rumor that the Weinstein machine known as Harvey was so utterly disappointed by the fiscal reaming that he's actually considering the notion of slashing the package into two distinct flicks and tossing them at screens separately -- in just a few weeks! Harvey points to the fact that this was the global release plan all along: "By splitting it up, we're going to do a hell of a lot better internationally than we did here."

This has to sting -- the Weinsteins haven't exactly churned out the hits since wandering off on their own, with a catalog and slate littered with expensive projects, foreign acquisitions and genre flicks that were all basically dead on arrival (including, ironically, DOA). And now even their two Golden Boys in tandem can't open a flick to much more than what the equally graphic 300 pulled in its fourth week of release.

Of course, just striking prints of the proposed solo cuts seems like it would be to further financial detriment, let alone the price tag of re-promoting the flicks, so who knows what'll happen. At least the fans will likely get a (probably bare-bones) DVD release with all alacrity in a ham-handed attempt to recoup cost quickly. As for why the project tanked at the box office, I stick with William Goldman's Hollywood theory: "Nobody knows anything."

I've seen it twice, and I expect a third sometime this week.

WOAH!

Congrats my friend on getting through 6 and soon nine hours of bloody fun...

I'll probably only chew up three

I think the main reason it flopped, is cause they released it during Easter

but they should cut their losses, and release it on DvD with a sweet Dvd, but also, actually like put it in dive theaters for the rest of the summer, and see how much money they can make, making it an actual grindhouse type deal

whatever....its a good thing to be a fan, cause that movie kicked ass, and the b.o. plays nothing into my opinion of it

Nor should it.

And for the last time - IT DOESN'T FLOP UNLESS IT LEAVES THEATRES WITH ITS BUDGET UNFULFILLED!!!!!!!!!

I got to see this last night, and this was a fun time. I thought the features were equal.

Planet Terror was typical RR. Cheesy, over the top, and in zombie fashion very gross. This movie was insane in a good way. Started a tad slow.

Death Proof was a bit opposite. It was dialogue driven and more realistic. It started out great, but needed more Mike in the second part. I like listening to QT's dialogue, so all the talking didn't bother me at all.

Now, the trailers for this were great. Though Werewolf Women of the SS was proably the least good trailer, the concept of the trailer was funny enough. Don't was pretty funny, and Machete was funny and cool. Thanksgiving was the best trailer though. It was outrageous, funy, over the top, and just great.

PT - 8/10
DP - 8/10
Trailers - 10/10

If they divide these movies, I'd watch them again, but I hope they don't and they just do extended DVDs.

So?

It's already in IMDbs Top 250, although the people who talk on there are ********s.

What they need to do is release it in other countries.

*COUGHAUSTRALIACOUGH*

It'll probably make around 1 mill from here, but like it needs to be released in England as well - all the places not not English
Who cares about IMDB? I don't know why the net nerds bring up a website most moviegoers don't even visit.

Planet Terror 9/10
Trailers 2381238921/10 (Eli Roth stole the entire freaking show)
Death Proof 5/10 ...and I normally loooooove me some Tarantino films...the half with the girls in the bar was great, but the reset...bleh

Planet Terror was really cool. Classic Rodriguez. You had great action. Awesome characters. And, it stayed faithful to the Grindhouse idea.

Death Proof SUCKED! I don't want to insult anyone, but some people need to stop sucking Tarantino's cock. I don't see how anyone could have liked Death Proof. Yeah, the car chase was cool. I'll give you that. Heck, I'll also give you Zoe Bell's **** but the movie was soooo boring!

What is it with some people who don't like Death Proof saying that those who did are "sucking Tarantino's cock"? It's just a ****ing difference of opinion, no need to get pissy about it.

Only other Tarantino movie I really enjoy is Reservoir Dogs, and I absolutely loved Death Proof. How is that me "sucking cock"?

I thought they where both great, Death Proof was a tad boring during the character building, one problem with it imo is they didn't really build a relationship between the viewer and the characters (especially the Zoe Bell, Rosario crew), they just built the relationships with the other characters...I thought though the text messaging part was a nice way to make the viewers like the character...

Russel was great in it though, that part when Rose was like "well I am left" or whatever, and Kurt was like "thats too bad" (not to spoil anything, if you've seen it you get it) that part was fantastic

I liked em both alot

Then, my comment wasn't addressed to you. It was addressed to those who think Tarantino is a God who can't do wrong. Trust me, there's a lot of them out there.

It seems Tarantino hating is becoming trendy these days.

Well, it is true that Death Proof is perhaps his weakest movie. So, you should have expected people to be disappointed. Even if you love Death Proof, which I know you do, you can't honestly say that it is his best. It isn't! In fact, if Death Proof is better than any Tarantino movie it would probably just be Jackie Brown because Resvoir Dogs, Pulp Fiction, and the Kill Bills are definitly better than Death Proof.

Jackie Brown????

hell no

Death Proof is worse then all the tarantino movies, but Jackie Brown isn't the second worst....at least for me it goes Kill Bills, Pulp, Jackie Brown, Resivour Dogs, and Death Proof

I think from a movie as a whole stand point Jackie Brown could be considered his best...but it isn't quite as entertaining as Pulp, or Kill Bill

Death Proof is worse then all the tarantino movies

And, that right there is the film's problem! Everyone expected better from Tarantino. Thats ultimately my beef with the movie. I expected better. With Planet Terror, Robert Rodriguez, gave me exactly what I wanted. Tarantino didn't.

which i don't get, cause grindhouse can have a 8.5/10 (which i think is about what it has in my book) and still be the worst ...like I said Resivour Dogs is my least favorite outside of that, and there is no way that one dips below a 9 in my book
