If this means they're sticking closer to the early comics in terms of characterization, tone and atmosphere, I'm all for it. Del Toro was the perfect director to adapt the comics and Perlman was always the perfect actor for Hellboy, but I don't know what happened along the way that made them decide to turn Hellboy into basically a Men in Black movie with monsters instead of aliens. Both movies had a lot of good stuff in them, but I never saw much of what I liked about the Hellboy comics in them. It always seemed to me that Mignola was also never entirely happy with the direction Del Toro took with the movies. I'm guessing that maybe he had a lot to do with their decision to reboot. Personally, I'm more excited about a reboot that stays closer to the tone, scope and atmosphere of those early comics than a third installment continuing Del Toro's take. I'm glad we got to see Del Toro's and Perlman's take on it, but both Marshall and Harbour seem like very good choices to me.
