The Official Hellboy 3 thread

I'm thrilled they're still considering this, though Del Toro does take his sweet time with big projects. So what storylines would be good for HELLBOY III?

GdT already has a story in mind, he did when he was making HB2.

Ron is pushing 64 so GdT can not take too much time...

According to Mignola Hellboy 3 won't happen :(

Although Mignola did not come with any particular topics in mind, he did make one thing very clear: there will be no "Hellboy 3" film.

Though, I'd be more apt to believe Del Toro, as he's the one making the movie. Maybe I'm just in denial, but I really really REALLY want Hellboy 3. Hellboy is among my all time favorite movies.

^I just cant see GDT coming out and saying he is going to get it ready if there isnt going to be one, he only said it recently as well. We'll just have to wait and see, but like you MM I really want to see HB 3 happen.

Guillermo Del Toro: 'Hulk' Is 'Inactive,' 'Hellboy 3' Needs Money To Get Started

The outlook on "Hellboy 3" isn't much sunnier than it is on "Hulk," but del Toro at the very least is trying to get Big Red off the ground for a third film.

"It's hard to find who finances it," he explained. "It's the biggest chapter of the three movies. Hellboy becomes the beast of the apocalypse. We've inquired, but so far, if you know a rich uncle with $130 million…"

When MTV Geek's Steven Smith suggested del Toro consider Kickstarter as an option, the filmmaker laughed and said, "We would need a big kick."

Del Toro credited Perlman's recent Make-A-Wish appearance with the desire to make "Hellboy 3" a reality.

"That had a lot to do with it, frankly, for all of us," he said. "'Hellboy 2' was really tough to shoot. We're all friends, but it's so hard to raise money for these movies."

"I'm not saying it's going to happen," he added, "but we're finally trying."

Well thats fantastic news GDT and Perlman are trying to get it going! Crossing my fingers that can get the big bucks to finally make this a reality!

Well, this is better than no news or bad news, but I'd say we're looking at 4 years minimum before HB gets off the ground again.

^As long as we get it I am happy to wait, if the movie gets a good release date though it can make money, HBII didnt do badly at all despite opening against TDK.

Gosh, I forgot how awesome 2008 was.

Hellboy is essentially the only non Marvel/DC character with a Duology.

Judge Dredd has two films but they are not connected.

Please give us HB3 for a full interconnected trilogy with Ron Pearlman!!

^Not only that but everything we have heard about the 3rd movie since HBII has just sounded amazing, not to mention the character himself is just awesome.

He should do a kickstarter.
I think it's quite possible he could get a fairly good sum from the fans.

These are beautiful movies, works of art. Hellboy II should have been a hit just for the monster designs.

^Not to mention it was a great movie also, still cant believe they opened it against TDK, it would have made a lot more money if they hadnt.

I wish they would even do a few more of those animated movies... I really enjoyed those. Especially Blood and Iron.

With this news of Del Toro wanting to do Heaven Sent, I wonder what this means for Hellboy 3.

As much as I like the Hellboy movies I would much rather have Heaven Sent than Hellboy 3.

^Would have to disagree, I want to see both, but HBIII is well overdue now, and its time we saw it the trilogy was closed out.

Indeed Hellboy III is definitely overdue. I want a great ending and a trilogy.

Yep, HB deserves to be resolved in his story, after 2 great movies so far, I can only expect the same for HB3, and we deserve to see it.

Eh, just more smoke. I'll believe Hellboy 3 is happening when I see it. At this point GDT has so many projects on his plate that I don't think we'll see a Hellboy 3 for another 5 to 6 years.
