The Official Henry Cavill Thread

If he would still want the role, it would be a shame if they at least did not give him a new audtition.

I do think he looks more masculine now, and if he got into the kind of shape that Chris Evans did for CapA imagine how good Cavill would look for the role.

I don't think it would be any trouble with more than a boot lift to make him "look" 6'3" or 6'4" as Superman.

6'1" is tall enough so far as I'm concerned.

Some black hair dye, and a better costume that shows off muscularity.

Yep, he could easily be made to look 6'2"-6'3" with lifts and a relatively average height cast. Height is NOT an issue imo with someone who looks like Cavill and being 6'1".

Nothing would please me more to learn that he's on the short-list they may be releasing later this year.

But yes, does he even want to do it anymore after having been burned by both Batman and Superman? A bigger question, maybe...

We've got the director, all i can do now is supporting this thread.

Evans and Cavill have the same height, but the good thing about Evans is his shoulder. I think its more wider than Cavill though.

I have to admit, Cavill is growing on me a lot. I've never had a problem with him facially as Superman, he has that look to a tee, it was more that I felt he didn't have the frame or height - not compared to the likes of Routh, Welling, etc. But that's when I thought he was 5"11 ................ if he is actually between 6"1 and 6"2 as stated earlier, then yeah he could really be a contender. Needs to bulk up a bit, but other than that, very close to how I would envision Clark Kent / Superman.

Here's a quick manip I did earlier using a magazine cover shot of Cavill and based on the Superman Earth One cover.

Well, not a year one fan, as I don't care for the Emo look, at all, I think Cavill has a good face for the role.

As far as his frame goes, I think its about average for 6'1".

Evans does not look to me like he has wider Clavicles at all, rather there is more muscle on his shoulders.

If Cavill has 6 months to get in shape and a serious bodybuilding coach, and willing to do whatever it takes, he could likely match the build Evans has.

he he thats pretty good :D

All Cavill needs is to have Snyder put him through the 300 training, and he could probably nearly match Hemsworth's physique.

Aside from Superman, didn't he also nearly get Batman and Bond? The only reason he missed all three was because he was too young at the time... he's perfect now.

Maybe this will work out for him, maybe he didnt get those roles cause he was destined to be Superman

He was never in the running for Batman. It was just an internet rumor. Cavill, himself, confirmed that during the "Whatever Works" press.

It's too bad The Immortals isn't out soon, he'd be all over the place then.

He sure looks ideal. I would have no problem if the guy gets the part...

Yeah, I've been debating between the actors for months now and I officially convinced that Cavill would be the best choice. I really hope he gets it, I'll go insane if Hamm or Hammer is casted over him.

I remember going to see "Superman Returns" at a midnight premiere all by myself (my husband thought I was nuts), and I was just about the only female in the entire audience. As much as I liked Brandon Routh as the Man of Steel, he just didn't have the charisma or "wow" factor to entice more female moviegoers.

But Henry Cavill . . . oh, my! He has it all. He's a tremendous dramatic actor (he totally eclipsed Jonathan Rhys Meyers in "The Tudors") yet he has a boyish, rakish charm, drool-worthy good looks, and a commanding physique and presence. I think the producers have to take female audiences into consideration when casting, and here's one woman who says CAVILL FOR SUPERMAN!!

I took this manip, don't know the original creator, and i made some kind of a poster. Like the first would be like this. The second would have the tag "More powerful than a locomotive" and the third "Able to leap tall buildings in a single bound".

Made our man Cavill, look pretty damn good. :applaud

So is it safe to say that he's pretty much the "universal choice" for the role? The one all the fans could agree on? The "Bale = Batman" for the Superman casting choices?

He's definitely my favourite now that Routh is pterry much out

It's not safe to say that at all.

There are ALWAYS going to be some who prefer someone else.

I'd venture to say he is the highest% supported for the role.

Hard to really get a vote however, as with forum voting there are way too many ways to cheat.

Yeah I'd agree that he probably has the most support for the role along with BR tbh
