The Official Iceman/Shawn Ashmore X3 Thread

Uh, it is ice........ Cracking and creeking is suppose to happen. That's what makes it more realistic (in an unrealistic world). If it wasn't there, you'd never know he was made of ice, and he'd wind up looking like Hollowman.

I mean, the same can be said about Colossus. Hardened steel isn't suppose to move, but he does.

Colossus's power is made of organic steel like stuff, key word organic=living.
Which is not steel found in the normal world.

He coats himself in ice, he doesn't become an ice sculpture.

No, in the comics he actually becomes a full on 'ice sculpture' unlike Colossus who only coats himself in metal.

Colossus' armor isn't really steel-steel as described by Marvel...Neither is Iceman's "ice" body (they refer to it as being, "ice-like"), which kinda bugs me a little bit to how they've chosen to explain how he's able to do what he does and still breathe and live normally...(A bit of a cop-out)

I don't even know if the effects for Bobby's ice-up were totally finished by the time of that set report taken from last year I think, so it's still a possibility of it being modified or changed a bit..

I haven't seen the method by which Iceman continues to live while in ice form being explained anywhere, but it's but one of many things that are not fully explained. In the same way I'm not sure how Kitty continues to live when she is phasing and her organs are immaterial. What happens if she continues phasing for longer than her organs can survive without functioning for etc.

Kitty cannot breathe while phasing so she has to stop before passing out or dying.

And her organs are part ofher just like her hair or arms or legs so why does it make a difference with her organs? She phases her whole body unless she is only phasing parts of it like if she was to crush someones heart she would phase her hand through then solidify the tips of her fingers and squeeze.

ive posted this before here is my try, of what it could look like

I suppose the difference with Kitty is that she's only ever phasing for seconds at a time while Iceman often stays iced up for long periods.

Yeah in Astonishing she travels through a floor for quite a while but that comic just seems to make her powers really really powerfull.

Yeh, that's because Joss Whedon is a massive Kitty fan.

Iceman survived as just a head of ice for almost a week.

Um.... Ice is made of Hyrdogen and OXYGEN.. He's also survived as a decapitated head of ice for over a week, so why does he need to breathe?

His ice form is also described by Marvel as "Organic Ice", not "Ice-like".

I wouldn't mind seeing that in the film :p

Yeah annd organic means living... people tend to forget that and just overlook that term.

But it would be funny Iceman having a relationship with two girls and being a frontline X-Man while just being a head of ice. :D
