The way you're describing is a little gay (and wont translate well for the male audience members), but for dramatic presence, Iceman could be getting overwhelmed by Pyro's flames, and by intensifying his cold power to save himself, he inadvertantly changes into ice. He then realizes this ability, and ice-slides circles around Pyro for a knock out (via a hail of snowballs).... That was a little lame too, but you get the idea.

I think what would work is a body suit like Johnny Storm wore in the Fanstastic Four movie. Only black, with a giant X patch woven on it. It's kind of remenicent of the body suit Iceman wore back in the mid nineties...
ummm clark had his clothes burned off in smallville...

i think what would be pretty bad ass.. is if you see a giant fire ball fly at iceman, hitting him... you see alot of steam and smoke and he walks out of it all iced up (it would have burned his clothes off, but hed look like a unic like he does in the comics, lol)

Well that's a matter of opinion really. The Hulk and X-Men are 2 totally different movies, the Hulk demanded more SFX work. As for X-Men, Singer established a realistic tone with the first 2 films therefore didn't go ott with SFX(although the FX, especially in X2 were great!) and Ratner, staying true to Singers vision of the X-Men, is following suit. Having said that, you haven't seen X3 yet so you don't know what/how many FX we're gonna see in X3. From what we've seen in trailers etc. the FX look fantastic and from what the writers have said we're gonna see more action and FX than X1 and X2. They've got a good crew working on action sequences and SFX so I'm confident we'll see some impressive stuff in X3 and the money was well spent!

Budget-wise X3 is nothing like the first 2 films. X3's budget is estimated at close to $200 million. The writers themselves said they could script pretty much anything knowing there's a sufficient budget in place to transfer their ideas to film!
that was never really confirmed.....

About the £200 million thing. I was in the hairdressers the other day and was reading 'Nuts'. They had X3 as the second most expensive sequel coming out. They said the budget was £200 million. The highest was Spider-man 3 with £250 million.

I've seen the $200 million figure connected with X3 a few times now in articles and what not. Also Kinberg said the budget was $200 million.

Apparently studios lie about their budget when it comes to marketing and such. X-Men 3 could cost slightly less or slightly more but they are saying $200 million because thats the 'in thing' for big action movies today.

We have to keep in mind that this is FOX's last big franchise. They will be putting almost all their resources into it hopefully

Who cares. In the context it was used it was not an offensive term towards gay people. It's like saying a guy throws like a girl. People need to relax here.

and I know plenty of women who would take issue with what you said about guys throwing like girls when the statement is derogatory towards females.

The gay word used in an insulting context is used by a lot by kids on these forums, but it doesn't mean it should be used. Some people will take it as an insult so care should be taken.

The counter argument I hear around here is always...people need to relax, and don't take offence...How about...people should be a bit more considerate towards the opposite sex, somebodys sexual orientation, relgious beliefs and culture?

It's Fox's biggest film of the year. I'm sure the budget is in or around the $200 million mark.

Are you implying that being gay is wrong in any way????

I work in the entertainment industry.... There's no other industry in the world that has more homsexual people than that. And no, that comment was not intended to offend anyone.

Having Iceman's clothes burnt off just to show his icy body is a bit extreme. Especially when he's right in the middle of a battle. What's next, he uses snow to strategically cover certain pody parts?

Smallville is different, because most adult men don't watch that show. It's mainly young teenage girls that tune in.

Since when. Most people I know have never even heard of Smallville

Ha, I'll let you away with that one!
I just got my finals timetable today and HOPEFULLY, provided there's no change, I'll be finished my exams on May 24th, just in time for X3!! I'll be leaving the boards at the start of May but I'll be back once I finish, X3 will only be 2 DAYS away then, can't wait!!!

No when there're gay people here and they can feel insulted...

I understand that it's clearly something that shouldn't be done here in this forum so Crave doesn't get sued now that a mod has spoken but out of curiousity what word would you use to replace his point? Feminine. Then your offending women for some reason. Howabout fruity? Unmanly? Then you're saying the opposite of a man is bad. Perhaps not masculine?
