The Official Iceman/Shawn Ashmore X3 Thread

Thats how I want Iceman to be in X3.

Like this?..... I'd faint like a little girl if he did. But it's not likely to happen. People seeing him unmelt from the ground in the movie, might be a bit much for them.... Yet the T1000 in Terminator 2 was acceptable. Go figure.

I guess with the way Singer established his "movie" powers out to be, he's very inexperienced, which is bull----, because everyone else in the movie seemed to have a hold on their powers.

^Keep in mind, up until this movie, Bobby's been a student. To be perfectly fair, the only people we've seen with awesome powers have been the older X-Men

Which is a stupid reason.... Just because they're older automatically means they have a better grip on their powers?

What about Jean?... She's had mental blocks to restrain her powers since she was younger than Bobby. And sure there are exceptions to every rule, but everyone in this forum knows he was the second founding member of the X-Men. Which is why I hate both of Singer's versions, because he should have made the first film like the comic book.

Well... yes. I believe that's the difference between 'teacher' and 'student'.

Without turning this into a comic-verse vs. movie-verse debate, all I can say is with regards to the movies, no, he's not the second founding member of the X-Men. So he'd be less powerful. Big deal, I'm sure we'll still see some awesome stuff in X3.

I guess. But having your favorite comic character finally come to life on the big screen is a blessing in itself. But when he really doesn't do anything with his powers, I would imagine people like me would tend to get frustrated and pissed off. Especially when the person playing your favorite character doesn't do a good impression of him, or he's written in a completely different way.

How disappointed would you be if it happened to your favorite character?

Take a look at the avatar, bud. Who do you think my favorite character is? ;)

No, I'm not completely pleased with what they've done to Iceman in the movies, and I really hope they'll give him some more humour in X3, but I doubt they will.

It'll just be awesome to see his powers on the big screen again, and I hope it's more than some crappy ice-wall that was released in the trailer :p

If not, I'll still have X3 The Game to look forward to. And they DID make him the best character in X-Men Legends 1 & 2

Iceman + fully developed powers + Madri Temple = Awesomeness. :D

Totally. (Excuse my ignorance, haven't gotten to play XML since Christmas) What was the new attack they gave him for L2? The one where he shoots the little ball of ice forward and it explodes?

*Hal gets his GameCube back in 3 weeks...:up:*

I think so.

They also gave him an ice sidekick in XML2.

That thing's creepy. And it never lasts long enough. One thing I did like about L2 was once you get the ice slide, it's the full-length. No more of this 10-ft crap from the first game :D

Plus his skins were way cooler too.

You're thinking of his Ice-shards. It's one of the best long range attacks he has, aside the Ice-pillar, which is the absolute best there is for ALL enemies. The freezing beam is okay, and it takes a lot of damage off your enemies, but with enough skill points, the best thing to do is beef-up his ice-shards, and ice-pillar. His Ice-sidekick is also a very useful ability in tough times. You can often create one, and sit back and watch him kick the crap out of your enemies.

Tell me about it.

They really shortchanged it in XML1.

Thankfully they really powered him up in the the second game. :D

I really liked what they did with him in the second game. He got some decent upgrades, not like Cyclops :p

Magneto, Iceman, Storm, and Jean Grey. You're unstoppable.

Man did I ever spam those abilities up in the game. :D

I remember beating the first game... screw those pitiful little ice shards, max upgrade on the deep freeze & ice armor.

Anyways, class calls. Later, gentlemen.

i have my fingers crossed that he does ice up

It WILL happen.... It's just a matter of how MANY times it will happen. I guess there's no way to fake ice, like they did with Colossus' armor. At least if they did, he could be iced up for most of the movie.

Question though: After completing the game, why can't you use those optional costumes to start up a new game? It seems kind of pointless to get the new costumes at certain levels if you can't use them any other place.

My personal choice is Age of Apocalypse Iceman. Although I noticed there is an Ultimate X-Men iceman (barefoot, human form). When is that skin available in the game?

Look, I dont want him to be semi Iced I want him to be fully Iced.....time will tell....

as to where his clothes go.. today... well i cant answer that.. but at one time he did wear what looked like just a pare of underwear.... he also has warn a tight body suit.. that id assume, like johnny storm's it has unstable molecules that go clear.

thats why i suggested his ice up scene happens when a fire ball is hurled at him. As it hits him... you see a giant wall of steam. he walks out of it iced up... brushes some burnt parts of whats left of his costume off of him... and kicks ass

I just had a dream I was Iceman and I was becoming Iced up for the first time. At first my skin turned blue then snow appeared. I didn't have enough energy so I was in a humanoid snowman for the rest of the dream. But I could not ice slide.

I really hope he doesn't look like that in the movie. :down

That that Iceman design does look cool and I thik they should bring it back for the comics.
