The official INCREDIBLE Hulk thread...........

Wasn't Betty also Mr. Blue, the person behind the conspiracy/shadow organization trying to kill the Hulk during Bruce Jones' run?

I know i'm going to be hated for asking, but what exactly has made Red Hulk so infamously bad? Okay so we got a red guy who not only can smash everyone like the Green Hulk, but can also taunt and talk back.

Isn't like every Hulk comic out there about Hulk smashing things? Yeah Planet Hulk & World War Hulk had bigger plots and we're awesome, but is this really the biggest downhill for Hulk since ever?

Let's see here..where to begin?
- zero to non-existent plotlines
- waaay too much focus on SMASHING stuff (yes, even by Hulk standards)
- random encounters with other marvel characters that don't serve any particular service to the story(see first point), and are mere cannon-fodder for being SMASHED (see second point)
- looking and acting VERY suspiciously like some of the worst comics that came out of the 90's era.. (he just needs some pouches to complete the picture..wait he has a backpack/handbag now right? Lol, nevermind, that's already begun..)
- overhype surrounding his origins and "mystery" as to his identity, as well as dragging out the whole matter for far too long.

...and finally from taking steam away from the main Banner/Hulk character..right after two of his biggest arcs in recent times.. :cmad:
I'm sure other folks will chime in...but that's my take on it

Just offhand, I wouldn't call it a downhill by any stretch..just a turn in the road...one that is unfortunately a little longer than anticipated.. :whatever:

Yes, but wasn't most of Jones' run written off as an illusion created by Nightmare? I'm hazy on the details, but I remember reading that most of the events were rendered non-canon.

So to use O-Ron's moniker with the updated identity, does that make him:
Roochie? Rossie? :woot:

:awesome:

Actually I kind of like "Rolk," although he will always be Poochie to me. "ALWAYS RECYCLE, YOU MILKSOP - TO THE EXTREME!!!"

Oh yeah, Peter David did retcon all of that away. I guess that doesn't count, then. So this is actually the first time Betty's been hell-bent on killing Bruce, or whatever it is She-Rulk is after?

Betty's story is the most convoluted mess of the whole storyline. They're going to have to make a "World War Red She Hulk" miniseries just to explain in what order all her appearances are supposed to take place.

(Note to Marvel: please don't do this.)

Too late, they looked into your heart, decided that you'd hate it and then decreed that it must be so! D:

Don't joke, I made a remark once about "What's next? A Red She-Hulk?" and like an hour later I discovered it was actually happening. :csad:

 Really?! Holy crap...I've gotta be wary on what I say from now on. I've said some really ridiculous things in jest, but if made a reality they'd be horrific!

But was the mystery thing really that big? Was it constantly teased on every issue or? But yeah i can understand too much smashing... I mean it's like if Batman was too grimdark just for the sake of grimdark. :P

Mmmm..maybe the mystery-angle wasn't THAT forced, but based on who it wound up being, it wouldn't have made any difference if they had just made the reveal a month or two after his appearance, as opposed to...well, NOT dealing with it for a good long while. It kinda gave the impression that RH's creators didn't know what to do with him:

"well..we made him...now what?" - creator L
" I dunno...we'll just have him fight other superhero's and have him do REALLY awzum stuff.." - creator O
"ok..but we should figure out which character turns into him.." - creator E
"uuhhhhh...did I mention he's gonna punch the Watcher...it's AWZUUM!" -creator B

...something like that...

Wait Red Hulk beated the Watcher? Okay so Red Hulk is taking down cosmic level threats by himself? NOW i see the hate. :p (i thought the strongest guy he took down was like Thor)

Yeah he schooled both the Silver Surfer and Terrax in seconds. Not only that, he stole their powers and artifacts (board and axe). It took Galactus to stop him, literally.

Well, he punched the Watcher in the face. I don't know if he actually "took him down" or if the Watcher got back up and was like, "F*** this, I'm out of here."

And Thor kicked Rulk's ass in the issue after Rulk thoroughly embarrassed him, so that's... something. :o
