Incredible Hulk #604 Letter Preview

After picking fights with the Juggernaut, Norman Osborn, and the Wolverine clan, the most insane father and son team in the Marvel Universe might actually be bonding. But everything's about to blow wide open for Bruce Banner and his big, green, barbarian son Skaar when one of the Hulk's greatest enemies brings back the most important villainess Bruce Banner's ever faced. Who is the Harpy? And whose side will Banner take when she and Skaar meet sword to claw in a gamma-powered deathmatch? Stone might bleed, feathers might fly, and hearts might break in the highest stakes battle yet for Banner and Son! Plus, The Savage SHE-HULK continues her quest to find Jennifer Walters in a back-up by Fred Van Lente and Michael Ryan!

So is Rick stuck in that form now? He seems to be himself other than the fact that he's a big, stupid-looking blue thing.

Hopefully we'll here more on the gamma that "rubbed off" on him after the incident at the Old Power Facility/Gamma Lab. Do see how far along its proggressing. Regardless its not to long now. I'm gonna miss this duo.

Rick can talk now? Zounds Mr. Pak, you're....you're making me LIKE Loeb creations!

From what you're telling me, it sounds like this issue needed to have a dark, almost psychological horror feel to it. Was it tough capturing and conveying that mood?
It's a very dark and emotional story. The real challenge for me as an artist was that it called for multiple close ups of Doc Samson as we showed him going through turmoil and his decision making process. His outlook on himself is constantly changing because of conversations and what's happening at each moment. That could get very boring, but Jeph interwove those close up scenes with events from his past, and that gave me a really nice context on how to differentiate all those images. Again, the whole team, Danny and Dean included, added to the flavor of the book. It doesn't look like a talking heads book.

So Rulk is the strongest and Angriest there is.

Just those words make me feel like thunder is being stolen.

Okay, so is there a main story for this? What issues are those? And what issues are tie-ins that aren't needed? (if any).

I like Skaar, not the rest. I want to get the story having to do with Skaar mostly, but all important portions as well so it all makes sense, but I don't want to waste money on anything that I don't have to.

So exactly how will this story be laid out?

I'll remain in "avoid at all costs" mode until Skaar and/or Banner/Hulk have settled down into their non-Rulk comics for the long-term after the event. I hope Skaar doesn't wind up in a series with Rulk. I don't want to have to ditch Skaar. :csad:

I think the best course of action is Banner to turn back into Hulk, and him and Skaar double team Rulk and rip his spine out his body

Because Skaar's been saying he wants to kill the Hulk in like every issue of The Incredible Hulk so far.
