I agree. I mean, you're captive for three months, you're going to start thinking about your part in all this and what your company stands for.

it's sorta like pete going after his uncle's killer

yes it's not so much development with time
but it is forced development due to a catalyst

being slower might be "better"
but what was presented made alot of sense

Just got back from seeing it.

It's easily the best comic book movie since Batman Begins, and it's definitely made it onto my top 5 super hero movies list. I totally was NOT expecting this movie to be so badass and amazing.

My new top 5 list:

01. Spider-Man 2
02. Spider-Man 1
03. Batman Begins
04. Iron Man
05. X-Men 2

harlekin, did you feel an anti-war / anti-US military vibe when you watched IM?

some of the early reviews seem to suggest that that was a subtle theme or tone in the movie......

I'm really excited about the movie, but that might dampen my enthusiasm a bit.......

I detected no such vibe at all. Anything that might come off as such was more of Stark opening his eyes to what he'd helped certain people do. It was a really enjoyable movie with a nice character arc for Tony Stark. I liked Pepper Potts and found Obdiah a nice reprieve from the usual comic book villains we've had lately. The multiple suits came off better than I thought they would. At first I figured that the inclusion of multiple suits was simply a way to sell toys, but it was done very well here. One thing about a certain character:

Iron Man better than X-2? Oh, come on!

I've read a lot of posts outlining comparisons to Batman Begins and i just say "apples and oranges". Iron Man is a comic book film. This new generation of Batman films are essentially regular thrillers with comic book characters. That's the difference!

And all these movies are freaking good!!

Saw it last night. It was much better than I anticipated and deserves to be in the upper stratosphere of superhero movies-9/10!

I just got back and it was awesome. This has to be some of the best casting I've seen for a superhero movie in awhile. The effects were fantastic. Iron Man gets a 9/10 from me.

Agreed, I was hoping for much more Mark III action, but I think they had probably pushed the effects to the limit and couldn't have really afforeded to put much more on the screen.

We'll just have to be happy that this movie is 99.9% sure to have a sequel and we'll all get some "more.

Alright two people who agree with me. But yah while I do respect those who feel they don't like the film its just how I feel. It was the best movie I've seen in a long time.

I just got back with my wife! She was blown away! The writing ...the actors....man this was so cold!

Even the introduction of S.H.E.I.L.D. !!!!

I can't wait to see it again!

Oh, and by the way. I need to get this of my chest: I liked X-Men: The Last Stand, i thougth Superman Returns was an ok movie (but far from what it could have been), I like the DC of Daredevil and I love Transformers. Oh, and I didn't mind Jar Jar.....

That felt good. But now no one will ever take me serious again on these boards. Ever...

But I'm in Stark mode. I say what I mean at I don't give a rats ass if you don't like it. Thats how dad did it, that's how the vikings did I think it didn't work out very well so far...

Why I liked him? My girfriend thought he was cute and I was so in love with her (and still am) So i really liked the fellah, and was a little shocked when everybody on the internet hated him. Although I could understand it.

And for those of you now trying to pass judgment on the mother of my children, she was the one holding me back because she wanted to see the scene after the end-credits. I'm the geek of us two, but I dig that she respects my geekness. And even though she was in no mood for "another superheromovie" it was fun that she liked it so much that she wanted to sit through the credits and was all "who is that SHIELD-guy?"

Outstanding.
In my opinion, it's in the same ballpark as (gasp) Spiderman I & II.
And a helluva lot more appealing to women than a certain caped crusader's reboot a few years back.

If Incredible Hulk turns out half this good, I will be praying for Marvel Studios to get Fantastic Four back.

Saw this last night with some buddies and enjoyed it. There was never a dull moment and I'd say it lived up to my expectations. The acting was ace and I'm glad the CGI and special effects didn't look cheap. All in all, even though there could've more action, this would have to be my favorite Marvel adaptation since Spider-Man 2.

Without a doubt, one of the coolest scenes would have to be...

Iron-Man was awesome! One of the best Marvel or Super hero movies yet! Iron-man proves that it doesn't have to be Superman, Batman, or Spider-Man to succeed. With Marvel in control of their projects I believe we will see better Marvel Films!
