I loved this film. It is definitely one of the best action films in a while, and is my second favorite comic book film after Batman Begins. Everything about this film was great. Iron Man was a fantastic way to kick off Summer 2008.

Btw, I could not stand Terrence Howard's voice, too. He needs to put more bass in his voice for the sequel. We need a tough Jim Rhodes voice.

They can tweak it once he's in the War Machine suit.

It was better than Batman Begins for me, too. It was a good film, but Iron Man was superior at the superhero genre.

I loved Iron Man, but Batman Begins is much better. For me, at least.

How? Begins was well crafted, but as far as action goes it was a little lackluster. Plus, the relationship between Bruce and Rachel was sorta stunted.

As a whole, I think the film accomplished and paved the way for everything we're seeing now. It seemed so daunting to make a new Batman film, but they managed to overcome that fear and prove everyone wrong.

Too bad most of the people I know think BB was a waste, they think B1989 was perfect. I think they're wrong. I also think BB is better than IM, but IM is in my top 5

I've said this before in other threads (possibly this one as well) Iron Man, X-2, and Spiderman 2 are great comic book films. Batman Begins is at it's most basic, a thriller with comic book characters. Films often get segmented into genre; this happens whether anyone likes it or not.

By saying that Iron Man is better than Batman Begins, please keep in mind you are talking about two completely different film styles.

I say this with all due respect to your opinions. Both of these films are great because they treat the lead character with respect.

True.

I really loved this movie I rated it 9/10. For the record I like this and BB about the same .What make each of them enjoyable to me is the cast they kept me vested in these characters and most of all made them believable.

I have had the chance to see the IM two times so far once in regular format and the second time digital . Let me encourage you if you live near somewhere where they are playing this movie digitally go if you can .The movie is absoultely stunning in digital . The picture detail and sound are very well worth it .

I just got back from my 4th viewing of the film, and I must say that each time it excels from the time before. This is absolutely in my top 3 Best Comic Book Movies of all time. I loved what they did with the characters. Making them 3 dimensional and likeable, or unlikeable if you are speaking in villian terms.

The pacing was absolutely perfect. And although the t.v spots and different clips early on made it appear to be "joke-filled" it had the perfect blend and never seemed to be over-done.

I recommend this movie to comic fans and average movie goers.

A+ 10 out of 10~:im:

Robert Downey is a GodSend as Tony Stark. And Faverau KNOWS what he's doing when it comes to making these types of films. I hope he's on board for the sequel...bring on War Machine and some Demon in a Bottle.

Everything about this movie was just perfect. I don't care if someone gets pissed off at this, but this is so far the greatest superhero film made and TDK has some serious competition. Can't ****in wait for Mandarin.

I also don't understand this. I thought Batman was lackluster 20 years ago and now the flaws of that film are more apparent. That film had weak action, bizzare characterizations(Joker dancing to prince music?!!!!), a crappy soundtrack, and silly dialogue. Micheal Keaton was poorly casted as Batman. He's was way too short and uncharistmatic to play Bruce Wayne. Nicholson was good as the Joker but, some of his lines were too childish for my taste. Also, what was the point of Vicky Vail? Her character contributed almost nothing to the storyline.

That movie was arguably the worst comic book origin film ever. The movie spends something like 2 minutes on Bruce Waynes past. Daredevil, Hulk, X-Men, Batman Begins, Iron Man, Ghost Rider, Elektra, Superman, Spawn, Hellboy, Spider-man, and Constantine all did a much better job developing the backgrounds of their characters.

Awesome movie. I seen it again on the big screen.

That's funny. I've never met someone with the exact opposite of my opinions on a movie before.

I don't think Batman '89 was perfect by any stretch, but I loved the immagination, the immagery, and the darkness of that movie. Nicholson was spot on as the Joker, and the Mark Hammil animated verison that everyone loves was largely based of Nicholson's Joker.

The part where Joker electricutes the mob boss with a hand buzzer and then talks to his dead body, then says "I'm glad your dead! HA! HA! HA! HA!" That was classic Joker. I remember seeing it in the theater and everyone busted up lauging at that scene, it was perfect.

Keaton was too short, but at the same time, I thought he did a great job. He didn't do Bruce Wayne so well, but I thought he played Batman very well.

Yeah, being a Neal Adams fan, I actually still prefer that movie to Begins. They did some great action with a suit that was supposed to be so restrictive and it's still the most faithful costume out of all the Batman movie costumes. It's just an all black version of the regular costume and no crazy embellishments to make it look all tech.

I watched the Movie again today. You won't believe it, but those suckers cut two scenes from the escape sequence in the Mark 1.

1. When Stark shoots the missile, it only shows the impact and immediately cuts to Stark standing next to Yin Seng (sp?).

2. When he says "My turn." he shoots his flamethrowers like always, but it cuts right to him pushing the button to fly away. The entire sequence with him putting terrorists on fire and destroying the weapons in the camp has been cut.

I was really pissed off.

in my theater they did this with two moveis. its stupid

Saw the movie awhile ago now, on the opening day. The beginning was great, the whole sequence where he was building Mark II and III was fantastic, so much gadgetry and technical details, but the best part had to be his fight with the terrorists in that city. At the moment he landed in the middle of all those terrorists was when I got a huge goddamn grin on my face, turned to my girlfriend and said "I love this movie." That fight was absolutely amazing, the best in any comic book movie.

Wasn't so much a fight as it was a severe beating lol

This post just shows your ignorance.

I don't see the issue people have with 'Hellboy'....granted it doesn't have a casual appeal feel to it, but I liked it....the sequel looks to be deeper in the vibe of the books.
