Ghost Rider for me is a cool looking character but I think in terms moviewise there's not much you can do with him convincingly. He's still a second tier quality character.

Nick Cage's alligence to Marvel is enough to own the 2 disc version-I'm sure he'd take tanning pillsto play the Hero for Hire if it were socially acceptable.

I dug GR too.

Rac,so what if he is defending Ghost Rider? Let it be!! :cmad:
Rider's Hellcycle is so amazing looking.

I agree,Iron Man will still be kicking serious butt when Speed Racer is out,and probably when Indiana Jones:The Kingdom Of Crystal Skull(it just seems no one gives a frack about it alot). But Narnia 2,will make it lose it's legs IMO.

Blasphemy....Indiana Jones is an institution in cinema...its just that Lucas isn't marketing the **** out of it because he learned his lesson about overhyping with the Star Wars prequels.

^Ah hem,I said it seems...,not oh it's official, not alot of people really care about Indiana Jones 4 coming out.

Iron Man will be losing it's legs very quickly IMO.

Narnia 2 looks like it will be better than the 1st one....and then we all should know that a crap load of people will be seeing Indy 4.

Iron Man will be losing it's legs this week IMO.

I know a few high school teachers and they are all telling me that their students have no clue who Indiana Jones is. The movie will be huge, no doubt, but it better hook the kids in some other way than just hoping that theyve seen the classics.

Can Marvel consistently make there films any good though?

Doubt it....Thor will most likely be silly and Ant Man??..A Captain America will most likely not do well overseas at all. Early rumblings about the new Hulk have been underwhelming.

Iron Man gets a 7 out 10.

B-

I am doubting the quality of The Incredible Hulk...it looks fine except when The Hulk himself is on screen. I actually think the CGI from Ang Lee's movie looked more realistic.

Ant Man is being made to be a silly, more family friendly movie.

Thor is a tough one...here's hoping that they make it epic.

You can tell that they are wary of Captain Americas viability with it currently being called The First Avenger: Captain America. Its something that can only be done in a mature way if its to be taken seriously as a movie. To avoid current anti-US sentiment and to keep with teh characters comic roots, it should probably be a ww2 period piece...then end it with him being immobilized (I dont care if its a block of ice) and then have Tony Stark and Sheild find him in the beginning of The Avengers movie.

I think you're(Dark Knight) choice of words followed by a vibe..is making you come off as being belligerent in this thread IMO. I also get this feeling that you're only a DC fanboy.

While I do prefer Superman: The Movie, BATMAN and Spider-Man to it I do think Iron Man was much better than Batman Begins, Spider-Man 2 and X2. The latter 3 while I consider good just never had any real replay value with me and I never really got why they were so highly regarded. Though Spidey 2 along with the original and IM are the only post-2000 superhero movies to even make it into my all time superhero movie top 10.

As for the dude who said GR could never be made into a good movie and always come across as second lister. Well IM was considered a second lister by many for many years I think now cause of the movie he might be ranked a little higher but a lot of people still know jack about his comics. I was the only IM fan in my circle and I'm a DC head for the most part my friends were the marvel zombies. Only Marvel characters I really cared for the most were DD, Spidey, X-Men, IM, Punisher, Hulk, Thor and GR. Was never into Cap though I'm a big Avengers fan but never bothered with his solo.

As someone who has read a lot of Ghost Rider comics there is huge potential for a great movie to be made from that source. So much pathos to be explored in there. Only problem was the movie we got did not have a good team behind it. Mark Steven Johnson may have his heart in the right place but he doesn't have the skill or vision to really pull off a comic adaptation it's the same reason DD was so problematic. Give the GR property to a really capable and passionate director and writer and I guarantee you'd get good results.

You know something it pains me to say this but I dont care for Indy 4 at all. First screening of Iron Man I saw was before the nationwide release about a week back the trailer played to no reaction. I saw IM again last nigth and this time there was applause but it seemed like people felt obligated out of nostalgia cause none of the humor got any laughs or anything.

The Indy trilogy is hands down my favorite adventure series ever. It is to me what the original Star Wars trilogy was to millions of others. I know those movies word for word and scene for scene. I've owned Raiders about 8 different times in my 24 years on this earth 2 of those times were cause my VHS copies got worn out from so much viewing. Temple was a very influential film to me and helped me develop a vivid imagination a lot of people hate on it but I absolutely adore that movie. Last Crusade gets panned the most but man that is one of the sweetest and most fun action comedies ever. But this new movie I feel absolutely nothing for it.

Just nothing, I really really want to be hyped I mean Indy is back but the trailers were very underwhelming. Something about this seems very off nothing excites me. Ford seems to be forcing it the few lines he had did not have that natural Indy charm and charisma in their delivery. I never thought I'd say this about a new Indiana Jones movie but I don't think I'm going to catch this at the cinema. My next movies are Hulk (which also looks underhwelming but I'll give it a shot), Wall-E then TDK, Tropic Thunder and Pineapple Express.

Forr the record, one is an English teacher that focuses heavily on comics as a method of teaching, and the other is an art teacher who is a big movie buff, so they actually do talk to their students about this type of movie a lot.

Well, that aint too far out of the relm of possibility. The Last crusade did come out in '89, same as Batman. 19 long years ago, let's see, I was in 7th grade, the only superhero movies we ever had then were 4 Superman movies, Russia was still the enemy and gas was .80 cents.

I think it's a big money grab. You had if not the best one of the greatest Triliogies ever, hell there weren't even any real trilogies before Indy that live up to that, Outside of Star Wars, which is now 1 best trilogy and 1 big ass cartoon trilogy.

This is my issue with Ghostrider. He looks cool, yes but there's not much you can do with him story wise without it looking slapdash and mediocre. I think the best chance for a riveting story would be to have GR pitted against Mephisto but the battles between the Demons need to be not so one sided. It's like watching someone playing a fighting game with invincibility. It's boring to see the hero always win so easily.

1)I'm with you on the Indiana Jones movies,I never liked them to begin with.

2) I agree with you about Ghost Rider,it could have been better, but I liked it for what it was!!

:yay:

Well,I do admit, the henchmen got defeated fairly quick. But then again, those guys were just nothing but henchmen IMO. As for Blackheart,he was alright but could have been better internally and externally. Mephisto was cool for how he was and how much screen time he got. But I too thought he should have been used properly and think he should have got more screen time too. To also be fair again, the movie was an introduction,so it's just the start of movie GR,I hope there's better stories to come too. Maybe, just maybe,Mark did it on purpose to save Meph and the scary huge version of Black Heart that we like. Only he knows. I didn't even like the henchmen elements really,so I don't care too much that they got defeated pretty easily once Ghost Rider knew how to utilize his fire power and chain properly.

You should read Vol. 2. That'll change the way you forever look at Ghost Rider. OR, the current series, starting #20.

I just loved the beginning with the way it draws into the story without explaining every little thing like you're some kind of ******. Overall great pacing, never got bored one bit. The middle part where Tony is experimenting with the tech I think got the biggest laughs. Don't really get what Rhodes' role was in all of this save for foreshaddowing. I loved his: "Next time, baby" line. :)

The one thing or element I really didn't care for was Gwyneth comes to the rescue at the end of the movie. I just didn't believe Gwyneth Paltrow in an action scene, especially in that get-up. I liked her as a super organized anal secretary but as an action-ista? No way. It's bad enough you got a guy in a giant robot suit coming after this skinny little girl. Paltrow's wooden performance takes the fun out of that whole scene.

Paltrow was the weak link in the chain there....though her "taking out the trash line" was nice

I liked her on-screen romance with Stark. The awkwardness was well-done.

It's like a handbook on how not to screw up a comic book movie. Not too serious, not too goofy, great casting, great effects (real and digital), and a bad guy the hero can hit and possibly be killed by.

Best comic movie i've ever seen I think!

Hi, I'm El Payaso and post mostly at the Batman, Superman and Hulk forums. never posted on Iron man forum before and I knew the character by the 1966 cartoons and a bunch of comics only.

That said this movie was fantastic. I loved 98% of what I saw.

Frankly, the best of Marvel for me along with X-Men. Far better than Spiderman and I enjoyed it even more than Batman Begins.

Kudos yo Favreau and of course to the actors, mainly Gwyneth Palthrow, Shaun Toub, Terrence Howard and an absolutely superb Jeff Bridges. Oh and of course Downey Jr, he makes the movie.

Very very good movie. :up::up::up:
