Oh i thought it was, i thought i remember reading and article or something about production and it said it was going for R film. But yea from what little i know of the character i dont see the need for him to be R. But yea we know wb isnt in the mood to do any R rated hero films now, same goes with marvel. But we do have to all remember even if a film was pg 13 their is so much you can do with it in today's world.

Not be funny or offensive web-head, but this just shows how little you know of the character, he is totally an R character, In the latest comics, we have seen him feed people to dogs and crocadile's and do plenty more thats more than R-worthy.

I am personally a bit dissapointed with the PG-13 news.

Jonah is a character who CAN be RATED R in theory but he can be adapted into a PG 13 movie for sure.

^He can, but IMO you lose some of what makes the character, he is a violent person who lives a violent life, I dont see how that translates to PG-13 to well personally.

oh sorry i dont know much of hex besides the few times i have seen him in animation. I dont really read any dc stuff myself. More a marvel fan in the comics area. As you can tell by my screen name.

Have there been any images of Megan released? Im on some fansite of hers and they have some cool shots, but they dont have it in the gallery.

only images i seen of megan was that on set photos where her in robes/then another we saw her outfit.

As for if it does end up being just pg 13, like i think i said easier hopefully maybe the director will have shot some R rated stuff to be added to an directors cut/unrated cut.

was talked about on the other page mclay 18, they are doing theme/film score as some posters have pointed out along with the film's composer.

No need to be sorry dude, if you dont know you dont know, I read both Marvel and DC personally, and to me, Hex is a character that needs to R, i suppose a PG-13 can be done, but as you said, they better bring out an R version on DVD!

Composer John Powell and metal band Mastodon will compose the score for Jonah Hex. I pray that Mastodon's involvement is just an end credits song.

 Awesome news, Powell has done some great scores, his score for X3 was the only memorable thing about that movie, and his scores for Hancock and the Bourne movies were even better, great choice.

i have nothing against you man i am more a marvel guy cause i been around more marvel stuff, plus i tend to just stick to 1-3 characters and titles. with the way prices are these days for comics 3 or 4 dollars its a bit pricey to buy alot of things.

I do to hope the director for hex did some alternate scenes or some R rated stuff that could be added to a directors cut/unrated cut to please the more harcore hex fans.

:huh:Didnt think you did.

Yeah, totally understand, I probably spend too much on TPB's at the moment, but I dont spend my wages every month so thats probably why I buy more than I should. To be honest, never got into Hex until the movie was announced. Got a TPB to know a little about the character and just got into him. Anyway, judging by your name and avatar, you are a Spidey fan, and thats never a bad thing with me

Yeah, I hope so, I can take a PG-13 theatrical cut if it means we will be getting a harder/tougher cut on DVD.

we are bound to get something i bet by oct/nov range. Yea a total spidey fan here i been reading/collecting spidey titles for roughly 9 yrs right now actively and when i was younger i picked up a issue here or their before i started going to comic shops and all that.

^Awesome, cant wait for the first clip personally, I have been told the script stays true to the spirit of the character so hopefully the direction does as well.

^I'm sure it wont be long now until we see some footage, a teaser shouldnt be too long forthcoming.

I think a PG-13 cut is doable. Most of the time, Hex just shoots people anyways, which is why his comic can still come out under DC's prime imprint.

For those looking for Jonah Hex tpbs, I really do recommend checking out what's in the library at the local bookstore that allows patrons to look through the books. The new series is mostly standalone stories so you can get a feel for the character in a hurry.

I think Batman-on-film has a good basic writeup on Jonah Hex as a comic character at http://www.batman-on-film.com/dccomics-on-film_article_who-is-jonahhex_rreineke_7-19-09.html

I will probably check out some stuff on hex closer to when the film comes out so i can get a better feel for the guy. Since all i know of his is his btas/jlu/brave and the bold animated versions i have seen.

Both Hex and his enemies do some pretty violent/sick things in the comics, look at what happened to Talula Black even, you couldnt show that or probably even mention half of what they did to her in a PG-13 movie IMO.

The script I read definitely isn't translatable to pg-13. It's hard r all the way. So if it is pg-13 there must of been some whole sale changes to the script, which would be disappointing. It's honestly a brilliant script as is.

or things just got cut out, changed slightly and we will see it in a unrated/directors cut like i said before. We have no clue how the director did the film. Did he do it as an R rated film and willing to make a few cuts to bring it to pg 13 rating. Or did he do the film as a pg 13 film.

From the footage it sounds as if they'll be cracking jokes and one liners about Hex's disfiguration. I really hope that's not the case. Because that could easily happen.
