well since it comes out in mid june and the losers who come out next month didnt get a trailer to about two months ago. i would figure probably another 1-2 weeks.

hmm i thought that rock group mostrdon was doing music for hex?

Their MySpace page indicated that they were working on the music with composer John Powell (I don't know if they're still involved with Beltrami or not). I don't know if their involvement with Powell were just song-related, or whether they were involved with the actual orchestral score writing.

Yeah the trailer is extremely late.

I hope this movie doesn't flop.

oh i too hope it doesnt flop. But since it was shot with a lower budget i am sure it will be a modest hit for dc/wb. As for trailer sure its late. But we still have roughly 3months to film comes out. And this isnt a huge tentpole film. So we dont need that much marketing for it. But like i said i am sure we will have a promo in next week or two. Heck as it been stated losers first trailer came out late and that is out in april.

well we shouldnt doom the film to its actually out and we can see it.

I dont think we'll get a teaser, just a full blown trailer with The Losers

It's going up against Toy Story 3, so it's prospects of doing any box office damage went out the window when the release date was moved.

sure it will probably be crashed opening weekend by ts3. But it still could probably take 2nd place for the weekend. Plus since its a lower risk film. They are probably hoping it will just make its production cost and a little more to be consider a sucess for them.

What the hell is going on with this movie? Its had little to no marketing at all, and is going up against Toy Story 3, do they WANT it to flop? They need to move their arses.

Peter of slash film said on the podcast that he has heard nothing but bad things about the production..

its to bad if thats true. cause i would think hex would be a pretty dam simple film to get right and shot. Maybe if there is issues it could be bumped to a later release.

Was he talking about the movie or just the production? I only ask because movies can have bad productions but still turn out decent.

^I know, he is a pretty simple character at the end of the day, and his world isnt a complicated one, guess we'll have to wait and see.

He brought up Jonah Hex because they were talking about Brad Bird possibly taking on Mission Impossible 4; animation directors takings on live action.

Peter mentioned that the production went to hell and back because of Jimmy Haywood. BUt he never said that the movie is going to be bad; just that he has heard some troubled things about the production.

But Peter said that he has more faith in Bird because his animated films are shot like live action pieces and they have the tone of a real film.

yea i am sure bird is going to transfer to live action films just fine. with his long career in animation and all that. As for hex hopefully it will turn out to be a good film. i may not know much on the character. But he does seem like a fine character and i definately going to check out the film when its out.

i really think that Jimmy didn't do a great job and maybe WB is just waiting to see if they should delay it or not at this point. They just did some reshoots a month ago so they're still editing it to see if it improved the movie or not.

i think that's why we haven't heard too much about it.

^I hope thats not the case, would be a real shame to get a cast like this for a Hex movie and then totally waste them.

I know at this point I should be suspect of the quality of the movie (I am, unfortunately) but even the most terrible movies have some type of marketing by now. And with a cast like Jonah hex has, even a mediocre trailer almost guarantees to make WB back the modest budget for the movie.

Brolin
Malkovich
Fassbender
Fox
Michael Shannon
Aidan Quinn
and David Patrick god damn Kelly?
+Thomas Lennon?

I'd watch and enjoy a live action Care-Bears movie with a cast like that.

Jimmy Hayward must have royally screwed up if they're having difficulty making a trailer from a simple, badass story like Jonah Hex with a cast like that.

Nothing at ShoWest. Nothing at WonderCon. No trailer. No new poster since September.

Surely this movie has definitely been delayed or perhaps WB are really embarrassed by the movie?

But the deafening silence speaks volumes.

^It certainly does, there is literally zero marketing for this and its out in a few months, honestly, WTF has happened?

even i was optimistic about the movie and now i'm starting to question the film.

Obviously, there's something wrong here but it's not as public as The Wolfman's behind the scenes fiasco...

yea like others have said with the reports a few weeks back of issues, and still no word of a trailer with a june release. Probably will be pushed off to say sept-nov? when ever it comes i hope it turns out to be a decent adaption to the character.

I'm getting nervous like the rest of you. I feel like we have a solid acting core(Brolin, Malkovich) and even Fox, yes she was decent in Jennifer's Body. I was real excited since Jonah Hex is a real interesting character.

Also Megan Fox had her first sex scene she has ever done in this film, let me find the link.

EDIT: that was quick, http://www.nytimes.com/2010/03/14/t-magazine/02well-cover.html
