The Official Kevin Durand/Blob Discussion Thread

Sabretooth is a classic in Logan history, the rest no, at least not Gambit.

For what will probably be just a 'thug' role, I would have preferred a Wolverine antagonist, instead of a foe mainly of the X-Men. I think Roughouse would have been a better choice.

Would you have recast Daredevil?

I would.

I know this is a Wolverine thread but a quick answer...

I love the Daredevil DC. I think it's still one of the best comic adaptations ever. I liked Affleck and thought he was a believable and convincing Matt Murdock. A main reason Fox shifted to Elektra is the whole Bennifer crap. Gigli & Jersey Girl bombed and everyone was hating on J-Lo/Affleck. Affleck was apprehensive as well. So, I probably would have recast but not because I didn't like the actors.

Juha, what you are saying makes NO SENSE. If X3 was so average and its only appeal to audiences was the fact that it was a sequel to the first two, why didn't it die out after the enormous opening weekend? Why did it continue to gross another $110 million over the next 6 weeks???

Actually it did die out. Obviously it opened big but after that the weekend gross dropped 67 percent. That's a huge drop.

X3 made money because the first two movies were great, it opened in May, it had big action and big special effects and because it had like zero competition(The Break-Up, Cars, Tokyo Drift and other crappy movies).

But you obviously liked the movie so good for you. But I think the overall consensus is that The Last Stand was a let-down compared to X-men and X2. And that's my opinion too. I thought it was a major let-down. But it made money and now we're getting more of these movies. And that's a good thing.

geez, captain optimistic, stop the talk? dude... this is a discussion forum.

i personally would love to see a deadpool solo movie, but yes, chances of it being made are very slim... but you really can't say never.

The dream lives! Shows you what I know. If this leak about Ryan Reynolds actually being cast is true, you don't just cast a rising star like that for a cameo. Maybe...

Juha in case you didn't know,

X-Men: The Last Stand is the 4th highest grossing comic book movie of all time, coming in right behind the Spider Man trilogy.

It made more money than Batman Begins and made back its entire budget plus an extra 50%.

The only people that found it to be a letdown were the small percentage that wouldn't have contributed even 10% of what it made overall.

These days, the comic community thinks everything sucks. Nothing is ever good enough. "Cyclops is the leader! Not Wolverine!" Who cares. "Phoenix didn't go to space!" Who cares. "Bryan Singer's films were better than Schindler's List!" Yeah that's why he left X3 to make Superman blows.

I've heard it all, and I'm just glad like Juha says, that we're getting more X-Men movies despite all the *****ing.

I don't judge how good a film is based on how much money it makes.

Oh, God... not the box office debate.

We saw the Blob in The Last Stand and it would be good seeing him again! Oh yea!!!

I don't think I'll mind seeing Blob in this film as opposed to, say, Gambit. Especially if he has a minor role.

Fck no for Blob. I've never liked him. We don't need him in Wolverine. I don't even see a good reason why he should be in it.

Cuz nothing stops the Blob. Not even Wolverine.

Juha in case you didn't know,

X-Men: The Last Stand is the 4th highest grossing comic book movie of all time, coming in right behind the Spider Man trilogy.

It's the 4th highest grossing comic book movie of all time because it had the 3rd highest grossing opening weekend. Right after Spider-man and Spider-man 3. Other movies don't even come close.

The Last Stand was all about the opening weekend. And the opening weekend gross has nothing to do with the quality of the movie.

For example, Batman Begins had a "modest" opening weekend but it became a runaway hit and ended up grossing over $200 million. Now that has everything to do with the quality of the movie.

But yeah, I'm happy as long as they keep making superhero movies. And they keep making them as long as they make money. I'm just saying that The Last Stand didn't make bundles of money because it was good IMO. There were other reasons.

I didn't include Burton's Batman and Men In Black because I was making a point on recent comic book cinema, which Marvel began with 1998's Blade, Dark Horse followed with 2004's Hellboy, and DC joined the party with 2005's Batman Begins.

X-Men: The Last Stand is #4 out of the list of 21 films.

Well, dunno about the women... Average I guess.

If blob is in the this movie, i expect him to be atleast 7 feet and 600 lbs of pure fat. Dont give me a 5'10" 300 lb guy!!!!

they could cast a shorter guy and use CG and green screen to make him look bigger. Just like the bad guy from 300.

I'm interested to see what the movie will be like. With these charafcters i mean.
Sure some aren't Wolverine characters, but some definately are and it might be cool to see where they are going with this.
Sabortooth is a Wolverine villain, Silver Fox is a Wolverine character, so is Stryker, and so is 9sort of) Deadpool. Not sure who else was mentioned but Gambit and Blob aren't but they parts in the movie might still be really cool.
This is getting me intersted in the movie. Plus Jackman said the tone would be different, maybe he meant a little darker and more serious.

I hope they added Blob!!

I want more known characters unlike Silver Fox and John Wraith!.

Too bad this guy can't play him:
