Not Blob, but eh...

We saw the Blob in The Last Stand and it would be good seeing him again! Oh yea!!!

That was Phat. They sure do pick the oddest minor characters for these films, lol.

I am actually excited to see how Blob is going to turn out in this film.

I see some people saying he is a waste and a stupid character well I have one word...actually a name for you.

Toad. Singer did to Toad what Burton did to the Penguin. He made him way cooler than he ever was in the comic. Toad was such a literal ***** in the comic, to the point I was expecting them to actually draw him kissing Magnetos ass.

Although Blob was never a favorite of mine he definetly could be fairly cool in a live action movie.

Wouldn't it be better to have a fat guy wear only slight prosthetics than getting a fit and in-shape actor who will cost more to suit up?

A fit in-shape actor will be able to do more while in the fat suit. Prosthetics are going to be added whoever they cast, so its about the actor who can do what needs to be some. If Blob gets a couple of action scenes then a fat guy may not be able to do everything.

the fat suit does seem like kinda a waste of time and money, when they are perfectly good fat actors out there lol

but, I guess, the suit would have advantages, especially during the action scenes, and they can design it to the exact look and size they want or need

Awesome. I really hope he's The Blob. After seeing him in Smonkin' Aces I think he'd be terrific. If not Blob then I'm sure whoever he's playing will be cool just because he's playing them.

And just like that, we’ve got another little scoop for you from inside the production of X-Men Origins: Wolverine. Last week we told you that Wolverine would encounter The Blob at some point during the upcoming prequel, and now we know who will be jumping into the big rubber fat suit. His name is Kevin Durand.

Not familiar with the name? Just look at the picture to the right. Durand is “that guy” from movies like Wild Hogs, Mystery, Alaska and most recently 3:10 to Yuma. Our source inside the production tells us that Durand was “live-scanned” for The Blob a while ago, but has just officially signed on to the project in recent days. Word is that he will be heading up to his native Canada to shoot scenes for the film sometime next week. This is also important because the rest of the production is happening half way across the world in New Zealand and Australia. Does this mean that The Blob will not share too many scenes with Wolverine himself? Or does it mean that he will be shooting everything in front of a green screen and be digitally inserted into the film? Or better yet, is the production moving to Canada at some point? Time will tell, I’m sure.

In other Wolverine news, Lord of the Rings and Lost star Dominic Monaghan has also joined the production as Barnell, a former military ally of Logan with the power to harness energy and electricity.
