The Official Kevin Durand/Blob Discussion Thread

I bet 1 million dollars that Vin Diesel was one of the choices. he is always reminded for this bald guys.

Oh you better believe he was a lead in the running. Him and Billy Zane.

I agree, that's pretty awesome. This guy is good at playing dirtbags, he'll be a great Blob.

Even if Blob doesn't belong in Wolverine. :o

Well, we don't know what the story is to say whether or not a character should or should not be ABLE to appear in a Wolverine movie. There are mutants all over the world, most of which have been introduced in the comics quite a long time ago. It's not hard to believe that at some time, not even specified or focused in any comic storyline, that some of these mutants could have intersected each other at one point in time.

So I guess Blob will be sort of a CG livescan of the actor? Well, hell, that's what alot of people said Juggernaut should have been. I really hope they play up the monstrous asPect of the character, making him sort of a mountain.

Nice manip. Although I just can't see myself getting worked up about the Blob. I've never seen his character used that well. Could he just be a stand in for 'hired henchman #5' who said he couldn't threaten the free world today because he was sick?

Why would they CG the guy when it's easier to make a fat suit?

Fat suits look cheap and horrible.

The creases and fake body hair on juggernaut was trash.

And CGI fat people somehow look more realistic?

In fact here's something from a little known comic book movie about a Marvel character named Blade.

Prostetic suits with CGI enhancements. Sometimes you can have a little salt with your pepper, guys.

THAT IS PERFECT LOOK FOR THE BLOB! Sorry for the caps but you know what I'm saying. The only thing that Would probably make it hard is making something like that mobile you know unless they are going to make it imobile hmmm....

Blob shouldn't look anything like that. Blob has always had some organized bulkiness in his mass.

That there is just all over the place.

The character in that scene always reminds me more of Mojo than the Blob.

that character= desperately in need of a bra

he probably grates cheese (for his nachos) on them

Juggernaut's suit could've been better, but there's a lot better prosthetic/ fat suits out there.

thats an award nominated suit, right there.

Well, there's really no point in getting in a tizzy over how they might or migh not be used so for now i'll simply be excited that i'm getting familiar characters in Wolvie, Gambit, Blob, Stryker & Creed. Though i've never heard of Agent Zero or Beak :S

I think the casting thus far has been excellent though and i'm very interested to see what look they go for after seeing the awesome work the did on Wagner and McCoy.

Pearl the character was called. He was funny in Blade :funny:

Prostetics is good but how is it gonna look in motion. If there are action sequences and movement it may be difficult. I think CGI is the best option.
