I didn't mean Spacey's Lex, I meant Lex in other media such as cartoons or maybe in another franchise of movies.

I'd easily give SR a 9/10 because of the great story it had. I think most people are only saying it was bad or average at best because of there was no fighting between Superman & a actual supervillian.
It was entertaining but I dont dislike it because there wasnt enough fighting (the plane sequence was one of the great Superman moments of the last couple decades), but its story struck me as REALLY STUPID, like too stupid for the movie's tone. Lex builds a Kryptonite island to sell as beach front property and theres literally a scene of him and his goons waiting around playing cards waiting for someone to contact them. Weak.

SR had a great story? LOL!!!

It had good concepts, good ideas...terrible execution...

Why would Lex need to be muscular? Keep him lean, but not muscular. No need for that. He could have all the muscle a human body could handle and it would still lend no purpose tot the story. He can not hurt Superman by punching him.

Yeah, stupid question. I wonder how the world would be if people actually thought before doing something.

Is it time to drop one of superman's greatest foes and make room for other villains?

In my opinion:

He has after all appeared in 4/5 of the Superman movies, and all of the animated features. Espeacially since its the Hackman Luthor who is a great chracter, but he was great for Superman I, and II. This land obssesed pyshco's scheme in Returns is even more ridiclous than his plot in Superman I (Which was rather in genius...:woot:)..so the charater in Returns didnt really fit with any modern standards of villany, more closer to stupidity.

And since theres talks of an alien villain being the film, i dnt want a alien/luthor team up, i already saw that in Superman II.

Reinvtend Luthor...well maybe down the line ina movie or two from Man of Steel we can watch...Luthor Returns (maybe under the guise a reformed buisness man)...

No Luthor for Man of Steel

i think people would not complain if eh would not be in the next movie.

I think that luther should be in the film but he should make some monsters to fight supersman because then there would be some other characters for supermans to fight. I think that luter will make the monsters and they will almost kill superman but then superman will win in the end and send luther to jail but the monsters might break luter out of jail in future film because that would be a good story. What do you guys think about my idea for luter?

It's impossible for them to realistically introduce LexCorp now, so he is just a lost cause to me in this "franchise."

luther should be in every superman movie IMO

That seems very short-sighted considering Supes has a lot of cool villians. Plus, Luthor's maniacal hate for Superman isn't always appropriate for every story, and frankly eventually Luthor would die. You can't keep fighting Superman and live...even if he doesn't kill you directly.

he doesnt have to be the main villan, but his character should always be in the movie, like alfred or gordon is always in a batman movie etc..

le sigh....there is truth to that. It's been said there isn't a good Superman story that doesn't have Luthor in it. For my two cents though, it gets old. As a human, Lex is limited to what he can actually do against Superman. He would have to employ somebody like Metallo to do the job of pounding on him, which always makes the super villian one of Lex's henchmen. I'd like to see one of the super villians with his own agenda, but I do see what you are saying.

I'd prefer not to have him in the sequel for fear it would feel to much like a copy of Superman 2 with him most likely trying to join up with the supervillain. And I also agree if their doing a sequel to Superman Returns then it's to late to bring in LexCorp.

I'd say no matter who the main villain is, we'll see some Lex. Lexcorp in conjunction with a Kryptonian villain (that brings his technology) certainly would please fans.

Who is supersman?

And your idea? How about no?

I say NO Luthor. He's been in virtually every Superman big screen adaptation (save for III), and I've grown weary of the character. If they make the sequel, then have Lex sit it out.

No more lex. What more is there to do besides the lex corp thing really? Four movies already. Superman's got a lot of villains. Do what what the other superhero franchises do (Primarily Batman and Spider-Man) and let them all shine.

Yep.

These are exactly my points for No Luthor.

Even if they rebooted, i dont want to see Luthor. had enough of him (he's a great chracter ofcourse) but imagine having the Green Goblin in every spidey movie, or Joker in every Batman movie. would get old after awhile...
