Instead of taking it on the chin and joking too, the fact that you act all serious about it makes it even more funny:D
Look back at what you just wrote and tell me you dont sound nerdy. Yeah DC toys are cool but still that's just funny you just set yourself up like that:D

It's like you always see in movies and TV when the nerd gets teased for having dolls and he's like "Hey! there action figures!!! " *clutches his collection in arms* lol

Youre on a Smallville messageboard on a Superhero site. I think its safe to say that calling someone a nerd on here really proves nothing.

And of course I'm being serious because we were having a discussion about KK but you felt it necessary to try and take it out personally on me.

Oh c'mon you two. That WAS hysterical Crisis. Really, it was!

He has dolls :p
*ahem* They're ACTION FIGURES!

Seriously, how can you not laugh? :D

Haaaa! So do I Pat. I got them from the Star Trek experience in Las Vegas. I have four of them. To commemorate one of my favorite Star Trek episodes ever!:D

Oooh, I almost went to that the last time I was in Vegas. Problem was, no one traveling with me was geek enough to want to join me. :(

We went to the Chippendale's show instead. :D

I got mine from a ST con held at the Hynes Convention Center in Boston back in the mid 90's. Shatner AND Nimoy were there. It was AWESOME! I freelanced at various facilities in the Copley Connection for years, so I had a nice "in" when the ST cons rolled into town. What a great time that was.

I went and saw it and it was absolutely fantastic. It was just like being on the Bridge of the Enterprise or Voyager. Very cool!

I just picked up on this...

Is it just me or do the people behind Smallville forget to acknowledge that Kristin's half Asian? I'm not trying to suggest anything it's just, especially after watching "Lexmas" and remembering an episode that flash forwarded to an elderly Lana, then remebering Henry Small...I don't know--it's no biggie, just an observation. :)

Lana isnt half asian. Kreuk is. The SV writers just write her as caucasion and ignore the asian part.

KK plays a wholly caucasian Lana Lang. It's actually a very interesting casting choice.

I would have casted a red-head as Lana but thats just my preference. If I was forced to cast Kreuk in the role, I would still acknowledge her asian half..I see no real problem with it, her eyes certainly look asian.

It's not that I have a problem with it, it's just it's weird ya' know? I mean it's not like they casted Sam Jones and gave Pete Ross caucasian parents right?

Interesting indeed.
I don't think KK looks so Asian that it interferes with her taking on a traditionally caucasian role.

Yeah..
Those lazy bastards G & M didn't even bother to look for the real kryptonian to play Clark/Kal-el..

I'm telling you, casting on this show is a mess !

(now, that was sarcastic - for your info Mr Ludacris ;) )

Well they should've at least tried! :D :p

I think they should have at least written Lana as half-asian if Kreuk was playing her, it would have made that trip to China last season and Kryptonite in ancient Asian relics, easier to explain. Plus on Smallville all the asians seem to be random bad guys or principals that get killed.

Now THAT would've made sense.

Not as easy as it sounds. If they had cast Lana's mother as an Asian.. then the Louise and Isobel storylines would have to accomodate that. Isobel could have been a Chinese witch? Whole 'nuther story.

If they made Lana's biological father, Henry Small, Asian.. then the man that she thought was her father would have to have been Asian too. Sorry, but there just aren't that many Asians in SV! ;)

I think KK, as a half/half is able to play either Caucasian or Asian roles. I can guarantee that in her personal as well as professional life, there are people that mistake her for being all of one or the other ALL the time.

But I'm reeheeally biased in these matters.

Status of Kristin's movies.

Partition:
Status: Filming

Plot:Determined to leave the ravages of war behind, 38 year old Gian Singh (Jimi Mistry) resigns from the British Indian Army to a quiet life. His world is soon thrown in turmoil, when he suddenly finds himself responsible for the life of a 17 year old girl, traumatized by the events that separated her from her family. Slowly, resisting all the taboos, Gian finds himself falling in love with the vulnerable Naseem (Kristin Kreuk) and she shyly responds. In a moving and epic story, woven into a rich and exotic tapestry, they battle the forces that haunt their innocent love, fighting the odds to survive in a world surrounded by hate

Also Starring: Jimi Mistry, Neve Campbell

My Take: I'm not too sure how major of a film this is. I'm figuring it's an independent canadian film. But this early in her career it is kinda a moderate risk for Kristin.
Will she get stick for playing someone of a certain ethnic background when she isn't? Should they have casted an Indian or Pakistani girl instead? As far as features go.....she kinda pulls the look off. And I do stress kinda. I spoke to a Pakistani friend of mine and a lot of people especially from the kashmiri area are more light skin and have features similar to Kristin. So maybe it will work but she may get some stick. Then again I don't think it will be anything from her work on Smallville and Earthsea.
How will movie turn out? who knows, but even though on paper it looks interesting, a few critics and imdb viewers may slate it for being (in there minds) a sappy love story set around a period which really deserves it's own movie and historical relevance (the Indian-Pakistani conflict) and of course casting Mistri (a perdomently comic actor) and Kreuk may get some stick.
100% agreed with your take, I'll probably watch it anyways. Even though barely anyone thinks that I look Indian, I actually am, and so my mom who is very light-skinned said there are girls in India (not sure about Pakistan) with her skin color/features, so I'm cool with it.

She looks asian. Its all in the eyes. And the witch story should have never happened all together.

As far as her father goes, if Lana believed she was full caucasion (thanks to her mother and step-father) and then discovered her biological father who was asian.. that would make sense.

My sister has almond shaped eyes and is a pale skinned, blue-eyed blonde.

I agree that although you can sorta tell KK's ethnicity it's not that strong a connection going by her looks alone.
