This is a continuation thread, the old thread is [split]347769[/split]
No one has said she has won any oscars, but she isn't cringeworthy either. We have to stop acting like we need the best actress possible for Lois. It''s balance and Wilde brings more than enough to the table to make her a strong contender.
Olivia Wilde
1. Good actress on the rise with a name.
2. Good look and age. (better than McAdams)
3. Starting to headline movies and should be extremely popular by 2012.
4. Eases into the role comfortably, coming from a family of journalists.
5. Extremely smart and well spoken.
I've nerver said it needs to eb an Oscar winner actress...
In My Opinion, I don't think she is pretty or talented, she's "in", though.
And the fact that she is already in 2 blockbusters/franchises, people might get bored of her, plus, if I was in her shoes, I would choose more chalenging roles in smaller movies.
you can say she is not talented which i think she is but to say not pretty!!!
really? GTFO
I'm happy you're not her.I've never said it needs to be an Oscar winner actress...

I've seen nothing yet to suggest Wilde is talented. For some reason I can see her being the kind of actess Snyder would take to, though.
i'm really warming up to the idea of Wilde as Lois...but i don't wanna get to stuck on her though. we don't know who's gonna get cast as Lois so i'd rather not get stuck on anyone.
i honestly felt, at first, that she is too attractive as Lois but i've gotten over that. i prefer a Lois that is pretty, but doesn't look like a model....but after seeing lots of pictures of Wilde and realizing that have yet to get a hot Lois on the big screen, i could definitely go for a change.
Glamor shots for magazines can make her look ridiculous. Check out this interview of her. If anyone can't see how intelligent she is in this and how she much she comes off as Lois, then I don't think anything else can sell you.

Yeah that was one of the first things I watched when I was checking her our as a candidate. Classy, Mature, Well Spoken... not at all Lois Lane IMO.
As I've said about other candidates - she doesn't have that spark of mischief in her eyes.
I mean, this is the first thing I come across when I search Youtube for Jessica Stroup... and when I put those two interviews side by side, it couldn't be clearer to me who has the better character for the role, naturally.

It's something called acting and what the role calls for. I wouldn't say that Quorra in Tron is anything like how Wilde comes across in interviews. I'm not saying that Stroup isn't qualified but people need to stop acting like only one actor is good enough. It's about balance and checking the right boxes.
I'm not saying some HAS to naturally have Lois Lane like qualities in order to play Lois Lane. I'm just saying it helps. It helps a hell of a lot for me. And when I see interviews with Teri Hatcher or Erica Durance, I see it, their natural Loisness.
I don't have my head set on just one actress. In my mind, there are several candidates that I am okay with. I admit that Jessica is my dream pick... I simply can't watch anything with her in it, and not get excited.
But I really really really don't see what people are talking about with Wilde, other than the fact she's hot and intelligent.
Many actors have public personas that don't match their roles. Have you seen Christian Bale in interviews and compared them to his roles? You would swear they aren't even the same person. Olivia Wilde has, acting, age, looks, name, and draw power. She is easily top 5 or even top 3 at this point.
I repeat. It doesn't HAVE to be important. It's both a personal preference, and my opinion that it helps.
