Your comments about Olivia Wilde. Some people are indeed slow.
i think everybody likes to arguing with me because i became that character on this thread. All i'm doing is throwing Ashley's name in the mix, and everybody poops in there pants. Even noobz come out of the closet on this.

If you need tissues on this, let me know.

This proofs my point about her face.

Lois's face should not be MATURE looking, that should not be the main trait. I non-mature looking face can act mature (Mila Kunis for example). What's MATURE have to do with anything. her face is perfect for that villianary role or the hot girl

HERE IS THE IMAGE OVER AND OVER AND OVER AGAIN

So, a fan made picture of Wilde as an evil character proves that she doesn't have the right face for Lois? Jesus tap-dancing Christ man, have you not seen the tons of other pictures that show Wilde looking kind and appealing? Have you not heard of something called "range?" Olivia has range in her look. As I said before, something you unsurprisingly ignored, Olivia can look sexy and smokin' hot in some pictures, but also look realistically beautiful and kind in others.

Could she be a good villain? Maybe, no one is disputing that. She can have the look of a villain, but she can also have the look of a "hero" like Lois. And I personally think that the actress playing Lois should have a mature quality to her face. Why? Because that is part of my ideal vision of Lois, a mature woman. Wilde fits it, Blunt fits it, McAdams fits it, Monaghan, etc. They fit the mature, womanly, confident qualities that Lois possesses. That's part of why I like them, with their acting abilities contributing to that as well.

Yeah, fan art, okay

I'm not a casting director, so I'm not going to pretend what Zach's production team is looking for, but if I had to pick between Olivia Wilde and Ashley Greene, I would pick Ashley Greene. Based on where she is now in her career, and that is she still pratically an unknown, I find Ashley the more right choice over Wilde.

I like Ashley, but Olivia is a much better actress.
i agree............ YES I AGREE. But given the right role, who knows

I always thought Natalie Portman was a terrible actress (Star Wars saga), but when I saw Black Swan, i was thinking, given the right role and lines and good direction, you never know what can happen with actresses that wasn't given the opportunity

Yeah, fan art, okay

Sorry, my mistake. Thought it was made by a fan, along with those other Disney live-action character pictures.

But again, you ignore the points I made and seem to completely switch reasons for not wanting Wilde. In your post after this, you say you agree that Olivia is a much better actress than Greene, but you still want Greene more because she's not as well known? That still confuses the hell out of me. It's not like Olivia's some mega star now anyway. I just don't get it. I don't get why Olivia having a better resume and status right now makes her a worse choice than Greene. If anything, I would think they'd be advantages. But whatever, I guess that's your opinion, and I'm clearly not going to change it.

As much flack as I give Greene, she's not the worst choice I've seen.

so you admit Olivia is a better actress but you want to give ashley a chance because in the right role she can be good...possibly?

and how are you gonna compare performances from star wars prequels from 99 to black swan in 2010?

Calling Olivia Wilde a bad choice because you don't like the way here face looks is the weakest argument I've ever heard, aside from the "she's too sexy" bullsh**. Gee, you don't find her attractive, so therefore she must be ugly, right! Because NO ONE ELSE ON EARTH finds her beautiful.

By the same token, Ashley Greene is a sex symbol to some, but in a few pictures, her asymmetrical eyes and Michael Jackson-style caved-in nose make her look the lovechild of Shannen Doherty and a f**king Picasso painting.

Oh, wait... I forgot... Olivia's face is wrong because "she looks like a villain." Well, hell, I guess Christian Bale shouldn't play Batman because he can play a very convincing serial killer/rapist! And Chris Pine was a horrible choice for Captain Kirk because he has the ability to look like a neo-nazi psychopath!

It's not a weak argument at all. You don't know if she will connect with Cavill, so all you can go by are looks. Just because she is the greatest actress in the world doesn't make her the best choice for Lois and the genre of a comic book movie.

 Pointless to even bother responding.

Christian Bale, killer looks, hell yes perfect for Batman. I guess you loved George Clooney than? Olivia's face doesn't match who I think Lois should look like. If I had to choose a role for Olivia, she should play Lex's main body guard. That I could see, not the leading lady that Superman falls in love with.

You are just not getting the point. Oh Teen boppers just don't understand :whatever:

exactly, you didn't even know about Olivia until you probably saw her in House. I first saw her in "The O.C." So ya, given the right role, of course

and how are you gonna compare performances from star wars prequels from 99 to black swan in 2010?
This was my example of given the right role, a great performance can come forth. She did great in "French Connection", but Lucus sucks at writing dialogue, so performance was crap. If we didn't get Black Swan and we only saw Natatlie in Star Wars, would you suggest her as Lois, probably not

It's pretty hard to "get the point" when you're not even making one. You could very well be right that Wilde would have no chemistry with Cavill, but you have no proof of this. You just don't think she would because you don't like her look. However, you think that Greene would, because you drool over her.

That's the most profoundly absurd reasoning I've ever heard. I don't know if you know anything at all about acting or filmmaking (I'm guessing that you don't), but chemistry between actors isn't determined by how hot the fanboys think the girl is. Natalie Portman is hot. Hayden Christiansen isn't a bad looking guy. Yet they had the worst chemistry of any actors I've ever seen on film. And you can blame it on Lucas and his horrible direction and script... but even in some of the worst movies, actors can pull of chemistry if it's there.

Like I said, I have absolutely no idea if Cavill and Wilde would have chemistry. But I'm not going to proclaim that they wouldn't (nor would I say that about Cavill and anyone else... not even Greene) until I see some proof. But you apparently believe no proof is needed. You assume that because no one (apparently) has made a Cavill/Wilde manip, that means that they "wouldn't look good together." Yeah.

@DIRECTOR

Lois's face should not be MATURE looking

....................Margot Kidder and Teri Hatcher...........NUFF SAID!! lol

you dont like Olivia as Lois we get it, move the **** on, we've seen you say it over and over again and then use your pick Ashley Greene........who just about everyone else on the site (except for you from what I've seen so far) thinks is a beyond horrible choice.

You asked once for reasons why Ashley should not be considered for the part............cause she's a horrible actress, granted I've only seen her in 2 things

1. bits and pieces of that Twilight crap
2. a guest spot of Crossing Jordon

both times she's like a statue, she's cast in stuff cause she's pretty, not due to her acting level which is horrible...........when she screams it looks forced........thats pathetic.........how freaking hard is it to yell at act a bit scared? People on Youtube who do if for fun can do it, but nope not Ashley lol.

So far, Zack Snyder is getting ppl who "can act" to be part of the film, Henry Cavill, Diane Lane and Kevin Costner, all 3 have shown they can act and act well.

Olivia Wilde can act and has shown to have a very decent range at that.

Ashley Greene is nothing more then a pretty face and would beyond hurt the movie if she was cast as Lois Lane, the only way she'd be good is if her only job was to stand there and not say anything.....on that and that alone she would be great as Lois.

One last thing (because believe it or not, I don't think that Wilde is the ONLY choice for Lois... but it's funny watching Directroll freak out every time her name is mentioned)... for those of you who haven't seen it, I highly recommend checking out the series The Black Donnellys. Wilde is the female lead in that and she's really good in it. That was the first thing I saw her in and I found her very engaging, because her character is really complicated and not always likeable... yet you still want to see things work out for her because of the odd circumstances she finds herself in.

I don't want to give too much away, because it really was a great show with a lot of surprises... unfortunately it was too edgy for the mainstream, "We only like dramas about cops and doctors" NBC-watching audiences, so it got killed halfway through the first season.

The French Connection came out in 1971. How could Portman be in that film?

LOL, I missed that he said that.

Portman is so good she was starring in movies before she was even born!

lololol.

And Lucus? Come on.

I agree that Lois should have the 'strong' look. Ever since Erica Durance is Smallville I've since seen Lois as the kickbutt adventurous heroine on top of being the ambitious reporter.

She wore a tank top and jeans most of the time kicking butt. I think that's what Lois should look like before she becomes the sophisticated reporter.

So yes, Lois should look strong, either in the face, or slightly athletic. Olivia Wilde looks young, but looks mature. Which is exactly Lois' look.

It'd be wrong to get some cute young looking doll. That's what they did with Bosworth and look what happened when she tried to act all mature. It looked forced because nobody bought that she could be that experienced.

Olivia Wilde looks like a woman that could have been a reporter for at least 4 or 5 years. And she would be completely believeable.

Director... just please God, stop. :o
