While we're not getting Cyclops, we're getting his brother and, if there's one character I'm excited to see, it's Havok. I'll be interested to see how they incorporate his character into the movie, since, in the comics, he's Cyclops' younger brother. I think he has the potential to be a powerhouse, with awesome power displays. I'm also interested to see how much of his original uniform they incorporate into the film, if they're being influenced by the 1960s and the style of that era.

So will Alex be older than Scott?

If the entirety of the movie takes place in the 1960s, then yes. I wonder if they'll even be related. The movies haven't paid much attention to family bonds.

I really doubt Havok and Cyclops will be related at this point. And I also doubt we'll ever see the two of them together on screen. :(

That would be terrible. :down

Im interested on this character too.

I wonder why they have decided to include him without Scott.

I hope Singer and Matthew keep the family connection, I really hope it.

They should mention that he has a brother and what happened to them. He should say something like he doesnt know where he is or if he is even alive or not.

They HAVE to say something. If not, I will be mad.

We don't even know for sure what time period Havok will show up...

I know Singer said that the film takes place in the 1960s, but if it were revealed that Till as Havok is a minor role in which he shows up as Cyclops' younger brother in the future, I bet 90% of the complaining in this forum would come to a stop.

Well...yeah.

maybe they are setting up a pre brotherhood for a sequel where havok will face cyclops. this FC movie will be when magneto and xavier form a team and it doesnt work out because they want different things so when they breakup xavier will go off and form the x-men while magneto forms the brotherhood.

now that's an idea, because then you could include the whole powers not hurting each other angle.

His presence in the film irks me (only because of the exclusion of Scott--and the rearranging of the birth order) but I am a HUGE fan of Havok overall. Can't wait to see the power display SFX.

If they're having costumes closer to the comics I wonder if Havok will have "circles" coming out from his chest.

Probably something more retro.

I'm glad to see Havok getting the film treatment. I wonder if he'll be the team "leader" like he has been in the comics on occasion. Or will Xavier/Magneto automatically default to the leader position?

Also, I'm not a fan of this idea that Havok just can't appear without Cyclops. He's a lot more than just Scott's brother, ya know?

I hope they have those circles coming out of his chest (or at least something along the same lines), because I always thought they made Havok more unique visually. They're like his equivalent of the red visor/shades IMO. In Evolution he didn't have them and I felt he looked like a generic energy shooter.

tron suit looks like his costume does'nt it

My gut feeling is that Havoc is a failed student in that unlike Cyclops he isn't a leader and he is a bit rebellious and that could set up for a sequel were we Cyclops come in and Havoc is now an enemy .

Havoc it think i think will end up being somewhat of a tragic character, a mutant with great powers thata utlimatley doesnt fulfill what xavier wants and ends up going bad or something

I hope to God they don't do that. I never liked that logic in the comics, and plus it'd make for a much better showdown to see them both worn down by their brothers' powers.

i have a feeling havok will be there to be a generic cyclops characer until scott summers can be properly introduced. they probably won't be brothers but will be related somehow.

Y even have Havoc in this? They could've used Vulcan/Gabriel Summers. His age and crap is screwed up anyway.

^Exactly. As a HUGE fan of Cyclops,I was really hoping that they weren't going to mess up Havok.

I'm also a fan of X-Men and X2,funny how that works huh.

Right now I wish they used Vulcan instead as well. I'm kind of worried about Havok's role in this film.

Using Vulcan would have especially made more sense with Darwin in there too. Since those two were retconned to be X-Men way back in the X-Men's history I would have gladly accepted Vulcan being a member of the First Class over Havok being 20 years older then Cyclops.

Well, there was no hint of Cyclops having a brother in the other films...

But a brother 20 years older isn't inconceivable.

I haven't kept up with all the news since i'm not always exicted for casting announcements but has it been confirmed that Havok will have the last name of Summers?
