The Amazing Spider-Man The Official Marc Webb Thread

You Guys have to calm down a little bit.....all we know for sure is that we will get a Reboot with Webb as the Director.
Everything else is pure speculation..

I wanna see a cast first and Sony has to know need more then the spider-man name to sale tickets so they best not go frugal now and not get actors who have some abilities.

Harry Potter is a good example for younger unknowns yes but those movies made more because of the solid older cast members is ask me.

I wonder if they will change there mind once see other Marvel movie project from Paramount on this new plan.

i am suprised how fast this is all going. in less then 2 weeks they replaced Raimi and already have a new director with a realese date.

It really isn't going as fast as you think. Sony has had this "back-up" plans working behind the scenes for a good while.

i know about the script and writter. and i understand that they were thinking about doing this when they had conversations with Raimi.

but so fast with Webb? :yay:

My point being, like the writer and the script itself, they didn't just start talking to Webb after we heard that Raimi was off the project.

And according to El Mayimbe, Maguire has known for quite some time that Spider-Man 4 wasn't happening.

remember the ''Christmas'' brake?

why are there always people who are smart about everything and yet they know nothing? look i understand that this is the internet but ................it was obvious .

People are in denial sometimes because they want something so badly when you're talking about fans. When you're talking about websites, sometimes they cater to certain studios because of connections so they'll go along with what the studio says to buy them some time.

this is crazy hollywood stuff going on. very dramatic.

It's like The Late Shift 3 with comic book movies. Well, Late Shift 2 is the Conan/Jay conflict btw.

I think this is how Peter Parker should be introduced in the film :woot: :

But seriously, I have no problems with this choice of Marc Webb as director. He may only have one film to his name, but that film was one of the best of last year, and was jam-packed full of directorial style. I remember saying to my friends after seeing the movie I'd be keeping an eye on him, and looking out for what he'd be doing next - with no idea it would be a Spider-Man movie. I think he could do a great job.

no way could someone have done that, spidey spins 360 degrees in the air whilst avoiding goblin blades.

Obviously the Goblin blades would have been CGI... But I have seen people do crazier stunts. That spin was nothing.

that exact shot couldnt be done without CGI. if it could have been then they would do it live action. this was in 2001. back then they didnt make everything CGI. and its not like it looked bad and its not like it was a bomb.

You're honestly telling me that a stuntman with good acrobatic abilities wouldn't have been able to pull off that spin and jump? Of course the blades and flames would have been CGI, but you could've easily done that Spider-Man action with a guy in front of a green screen.

You know Webb seems like a fine choice for Spider-Man, but you know what super hero he really should be directing a film of? Invincible. That would be RIGHT up his ally.

OT : was it scott adkins who did all those crazy stunts / flips in Wolverine for Deadpool? I know he was a stand-in for reynolds, but were those wire movements or....?

Don't know if they used wires in the Movie, but he can easily pull these moves off without. Here's a video that shows him performing the moves with and without wires.

what A badass! I know people hated that movie, but that was a pretty awesome end fight sequence, IMO.

I think a lot of money can be saved if they find some proper stuntmen. These guys are so crazy, they could actually pull off most of Spidey's moves without the use of CGI. The only thing that would still require CGI are most of the swinging scenes.

It's that kind of stuff that people assume it's CGI, but this guy is amazing. He really could help out with Spider-man, we shall see.

Except, for the reboot Scott Adkins would be out of the question. You need someone with the physique of a high school kid.

Another video with some younger guys.
