Strong chance it's bs but if actually true then I like what I read
because it's reddit? yeah, they're pretty on and off with trustworthiness.

i sure hope redditleaker23456 is telling the truth about [BLACKOUT]dylan o'brien being spiderman :shr::db::chd:[/BLACKOUT]

I like it a lot, especially taking place in the Andromeda Galaxy. If it's true.

Well, if true, it sounds...pretty good. Though by mentioning the "final events" of ME 3, then it called a sequel, of sorts. Takes place after ME3, how long after, who knows. But the setting is so far removed from the last series, nothing that happened there, can affect what happens in an entire new GALAXY. Works for me I guess, it's a brand new story of discovery and adventure, unshackled by the endings of ME3. I really hope it won't turn out to be BS, I like where this is going.

However...I doubt Bioware would put THIS MUCH info on the next Mass Effect game, which has barely any info about it officially, into a survey. And if they did, wouldn't they have a NDA thing to sign or whatever? I mean it all sounds pretty good, but it's fishy.

It is pretty much a sequel but not a direct one. That's part of the reason why it won't even be named Me4.

Well I read all of that.. And man I hope it's true. I find it hard to believe that this much info would suddenly land at our feet.. But fingers crossed.

Not to say it confirms this or anything, but the last Dragon Age leaked in a similar way, and pretty much every detail of that survey ended up being in the final package. So, it's not totally out of the question that this is legit.

If that's how it happened for DA there must be a good chance that it is legit. Unless of course someone's copied that format on purpose.

What's so bothersome about that?
there's still sooo much of the milky way left to explore and keeping the setting confined to it add a level of realism to the series, even as science fiction.

honestly, that part bothers me. but who knows.

Each to their own!

I just think it's a neat way to set it at the same time as Shepard's adventures, while creating enough distance that we don't need to worry about why our new character(s) aren't involved with the Reaper threat.

I'm curious about the whole Andromeda setting, mainly because I want to know how exactly our species, and the others like the Krogan get there. How long did it take? How many species from Milky went with humans to explore it? How many of each species too? How long into the exploration are we? Few years? Few HUNDRED years?

Any chance of us being able to play as different species? I'd like to be a Drell,Krogan,Quarian or especially a Turian

Playing as a Drell would be awesome.

yeah, I guess if the objective is to get away from the trilogy's story then this works. i'm gonna get the game regardless but I feel like it would've been better narratively if they stayed in this galaxy.

Such a beautiful worm hole!
yep, there's the explanation for us going into another galaxy.

This is a problem all sequels have with escalation. After your enemy becomes an ancient galactic threat... you have to basically move out of the galaxy.

This also sounds like a reboot of sorts. A start over, in a new setting, with similar, but new scenarios.

I'd definitely be up for a less apocalyptic storyline, and one where the stakes are more personal. Sounds like there's a race for some sort of McGuffin, but hopefully it's not as big a deal as The Reapers were.

It's all about story. You can set a compelling story entirely in a room if you do it right.

Sometimes less is more when it comes to alien races and planets. I would rather have 5 very memorable planets than 500 forgettable ones.

I agree. Characters and the human (err, humanoid) element first, then worry about your epic space battles.

Basically, it's a soft reboot.

Having three completely and vague differents endings can do that. Still, if true, all the lore except technology and some races are going to be restarted, which is a shame.

Though, leaving the Milky Way to reach Andromeda, even on the Mass Effect setting, it's almost impossible even with Reaper tech. It would take +- 300 years to reach Andromeda on FTL. And the wormholes is just a cheap way of achieving that. They took the easy way if the leak proves to be legit

They could have just said something like "humans discovered a mysterious prototype relay, and sent an advanced fleet through".
